Love the "3 budget levels" essays, more please.
I think Ryan Coogler would be a great candidate for this series! Fruitvale Station

Keep up the educational content. Spike Lee is very knowledgeable about the history of cinema, so it was wonderful to see his career respected with this content.

I barely noticed the aspect ratio changes and I'm impressed. Matching the color grading across the different cameras and lenses is quite a feat because it was done seemless and for some reason it felt big budget despite the isolated jungle locations. Yes, other directors use aspect ratio changes all the time but sometimes I find it jarring and slightly annoying especially when it skips back and forth relentlessly (Transformers: Last Knight, and M:I Fallout being the biggest offenders).
I like watching your essays! Thank you for what you're doing.
onde again thanks for the great content! always improving.
One of my favourite directors, Thanks for making this!

I love your film breakdowns. Are you going to do film breakdowns of the following filmmakers: Ann Hui, John Singleton, Jackie Chan, Beat Takeshi, Sammo Hung, Akira Kurosawa, John Woo and Tsui Hark.

I still need to see Da 5 bloods.

Who's the "Let's shoot everything on a tripod" guy in the beggining?
Even though his version of OLDBOY wasn't worthy, I still found Lee's approach decent And there's also a version that was supposed to be 40 minutes longer I wonder what it could've been

Despite all the efford, DA 5 BLOODS received only one nomination at the Oscars Not even Delroy Lindo and Newton Thomas Sigel got nominated, which is baffling
Pta? Fincher? Lynch? Villeneuve?
Hell they should show Malcolm X in schools. Was barely taught about the man.
8.5m...? damn
wow, da 5 bloods cost 40m? it looked like way less
Pleaase do Francis Ford Copola NEXT. ME: FRANCIS

who cares? We all know Spike Lee is a great film director... but how about some info when Spike Lee was shooting when he had no budget? I am trying to debut with my short musical and can’t get £30000 for it.. and Spike Lee shoot for $175000.... seriously?
Funny how the most expensive film in this video is also the worst one.

Same just crossed my mind. It's very pc to include different race characters in movies nawadays, up to the point it sometimes becomes absurd. And imagine white director making a decision to include white characters only, he'd be hang by the lamp post.

Honestly I have never watched any of his movies but just seeing what he could accomplish in those early films and how visually stunning they are, and how he went about doing them, it's pretty impressive. Maybe he should just stay away from genre schlock
