@@aro3275 imo your point doesn't disprove that Peter is trying to care for MJ but its part of why its so bittersweet that he's making this decision. May is dead because she was involved in his super-heroics. When Peter sees the bandaid on MJ's forehead, he must have been reminded of May, and he realizes that he can protect MJ and Ned by breaking his promise, and the only one who has to hurt is him. Ned and MJ can't be hurt by a broken promise they can't remember.

It was a telling scene that Peter became willing to let go of his friends so that they could have the life they longed for, knowing that being associated with him deprived them of it. Even though Peter knew if given the choice they would align with him even if it meant missing out on their dreams, he wouldn't dare take that away from them. Losing May showed Peter that he could and should bear the responsibility and requisite sacrifices...alone!

I've had a relationship where I had to do the same... sometimes you do more damage by trying to be selfish and keep people in your lives, then just letting them go. If they were meant to be there and stay, they will be. And if not, well... not every story has a happy ending.

Dude, the acting in this scene and the way it was directed is genius. No tears, some smiles and small talk yet the viewer can’t help but to cry. Truly a brilliant shot scene.

Tom Holland and Zendaya really stepped it up with their chemistry in this one, the fact that this movie had higher stakes for Peter made the stakes higher for Peter's relationship with MJ and the way Holland showed the heartbreak of her and Ned not remembering but then realising it 's for their own good, excellent scene.

I do believe so, yes. After all, he did the same type of sacrifice didn't he? Tony saved everyone he loved and cared about, including Peter himself, at the expense of his own wellbeing. If Tony knew what he did, I think he'd definitely be proud of him and furthermore, he'd understand his sacrifice better than most people. Dr Strange did so too at the end. I know that even he was proud of Peter as well, even if he'll never remember that he was.

Best scene in the movie. That look he gives when he makes the decision to not tell her is beautiful. Everything shown without a single word said. Incredible. Show this scene to anyone that tries claiming this movie was just fan service

@@bababouillee3632 in the way that they’ve picked up on the idea of the curse of Spider-Man, yes they hinted at it at times like in homecoming when he left the dance with Liz, but for the most part Peter was left unfazed, and in a more positive place, Tony’s death wasn’t his fault, in FFH, he just wanted to be normal and have both lives Peter and Spider-Man and to flourish with both but he can’t, Spider-Man does not allow him to, as Norman said “you’re struggling to have everyone you want while the world tries to make you choose”, the end of the film makes him choose, he has nothing because of Spider-Man, May is dead, he has no more friends because he wants to protect them, he has no fancy tech from other people, he has to provide for himself, he can be beaten down, destroyed, but he will continue to put the mask on and continue fighting, even if Peter Parker suffers for it, because it’s his responsibility

The way he realizes that they're living a normal life now and how he accepts everything. It's really great Spiderman pain.

“With great power comes great responsibility.” One of the best lines and I have never forgotten about it.

this scene is really well done. director knows how to hit them spots. both tom and zendaya played brilliantly. that "doesn't really hurt anymore" was delivered perfectly.

Something about the way Peter said "Thank you" @ 3:23 made him finally seem like an adult, finally a man. He said it with quiet confidence, assuredness. He walked in the coffee shop still a bit like a clumsy boy, but left a man, seeing his friends in a better place, even though he is in far lonelier one.

my heart breaks into pieces just at 3:18 when he gives at her a cute but lonely smile, knowing that he lost the love of his life, its so fucking hard to process even to people watching this scene, how many times we have been in petes situation

With great power comes great responsibility. Best line ever.

Makes me cry. That’s love. Love that’s completely free of ego. Just pure love for another.

Gah the acting here by Tom is unreal. The way he can convey his concern for MJ when he sees the Bandage and the looks he gives accepting his decision that it’s for the best is so damn heartbreaking

The best part is he legitimately behaves like a kid. So nervous to walk up to his gf. Completely humble about saving the world and having the ability to stop busses.

It's almost going to be one year of this movie, but still I can't believe that I witnessed all three of them in one frame and PETER PARKER seems like, he directly came from comic book to real version. Truly loved this movie ❣️. Hope to see Tom Holland once again as SPIDER-MAN.

“Only a coward hides his true intentions” and then we see Peter walking rehearsing his intro before he walks into the cafe. Literally him revealing his true intentions. What a brilliant juxtaposition of what he is not right next to what he is ❤

I love that we also see that him not revealing himself is not at all due to cowardice, but his understanding that the two people he cares about the most are simply safer if they don't know he exists. THOSE are his true intentions, and the reason why he hides behind the mask, that Jameson will never understand.

His expressions from 3:10 to 3:21 did hit hard. This movie had the greatest live action Spider-Man movie ending ever!

Tony would be literally exploding with pride right now...Peter did the one thing he couldn't, let go of those he loves...

One thing I like about this ending is that it shows that MJ's love for Peter was always genuine. Even here, when she doesn't know him at all, we can see that she was starting to like him. Which means he probably could have gotten her back if he continued the conversation. But after seeing just how much safer she was without him, he let her go, like a true hero would.

That spiderweb must be insanely strong, keeping Peter from falling apart and that

Seeing her alone, a single mom, a breast cancer survivor, I dream I could make her life better by being in it. But who am I? Just a broken love sick fool.

Give it a couple more standalone Spider-man movies where Peter Parker continues to suffer and grow from his responsibilities as Spider-man alone. Then start building Peter's redemption arc to reuniting with MJ and Ned, especially if the Venom symbiote can be involved in almost destroying Peter. The best moments to have are the ones we have to wait for after a great buildup. Let's not forget that we felt so sad that Steve Rogers was frozen in a block of ice that prevented him from living a long life with Peggy Carter. What we did not realize was the MCU (maybe not initially planned) was building up for the Quantum Realm that the Avengers would use for a time heist, and which Steve Rogers would use to finally have his dance with Peggy Carter.

My guess is that Ned will figure it out on his own (he can do magic now after all) and he'll be upset that Peter didn't tell him and that will set him up to become the Hobgoblin. I know that Ned as he's been for the past few movies could never be evil, but that was when he had Peter as one of his only friends, and now he hasn't had that, so we don't know what kind of person Ned became post-spell. After Norman, it'd be hard for Spider-Man's next enemy to take more from Peter than he's already lost (Uncle Ben, Tony, Aunt May), but if Ned goes down this path, that's one best friend that Peter will lose because he was Spider-Man, and that's if he doesn't just kill MJ, too. Plus it would make Ned's line to Peter after learning about Harry Osborn all the more heartbreaking.

I always had this feeling that even though MJ forgets who Peter is, the feelings she has for him did not go away and she’s probably like ‘wtf’.

When Peter says a simple “Thanks” at the end…. SO much involved in that word. That’s what broke the dam for me. Very understated and profound.

This is emotional scene just look at Peters face. It gets to the second level when you really had to forgot someone just for their own good. It takes a real hero!

This scene actually broke me like goddamn it hurts. But that's what makes it so good!

One of the best scenes ever. It reminds me of my favorite quote. “So close yet so far away”

1:57 that moment with having a conversation with MJ made her wonder. Or maybe Dr. Strange secretly left a small opening for Peter to choose if he still wants to love her or find someone new.

I'm about 90% sure MJ "knows" Peter still. Not in a direct sense but just in a gut feeling type of scenario. Regardless it'll be very interesting to see where Peters journey goes after this.

I like to think that while the brain easily forgets things, the heart has a harder time forgetting, even with reality-altering magic spells. The two of them loved each other deeply, and I think that left a mark in her heart; that's why we can see that even when she doesn't know him at all, she certainly felt... something. I think she definitely felt like she should have known him but couldn't place him after he left, probably spending a few minutes pondering that before getting distracted by her work duties and ultimately putting it out of her mind. For now anyway.

You see when Peter was about to pay for the coffee he was also going to tell MJ who he really was and how he knew her but he didn't just because he saw the bandage on her head and how she was hurt. So, he decided not to tell her because of that since whenever Peter fought, his friends were also hurt with him so he thought she might be safer if she never actually remembered him in the first place. That right there is what a true friend would do I love it.

This scene is also such a beautiful small love letter to New York. This is very clearly a nod to a small donut shop called Peter Pan in Greenpoint, with Zendaya wearing the actual uniform that their employees still wear, and the layout of the set matches the odd layout of the shop (though they've made it look more modern and slightly less diner-y). Peter is shown to live somewhere around Long Island City or Sunnyside in this movie, and that area is really strongly culturally linked to Greenpoint in Brooklyn since Greenpoint is the northern tip of BK, and Greenpoint, being dependent on the G train, which is the only line that serves the area, has much easier access to Long Island City in Queens than much of the rest of Brooklyn, and likewise, it's the neighborhood in Brooklyn that is easiest for Long Island City/Sunnyside residents to access. Peter Pan is an icon in basically these two neighborhoods, and these two neighborhoods alone. Its not an icon, it's not really known much outside of its neighborhood, and it's a pain to get to if you don't live along the G train, and yet at a moment when they could have literally had MJ doing anything, they went to painstaking detail to honor a beloved neighborhood institution, even though 95% of the audience won't understand it. Peter being from Queens almost always feels like lip service when 90% of the scenes are filmed in Manhattan, but this right here shows an incredible level of understanding and love for these neighborhoods.

A big message in one whole movie: sometimes we have to make sacrifices in order to do what's right. Although pretty much the majority of this film was really a love letter to the fans.

This scene was so sad to me when I first saw it. It gives you hopeful vibes but in the end its just acceptance. It's really outstanding with the unfortunate direction it went, but its obviously done for a reason for the future of the MCU and Spider Man's character.

Underrated 😂

The monologue by JJJ after May's death got to him and you could see him believe that whatever he touches gets destroyed. And all of that culminates here. This is such a great origin story. Thats the thing that made me fall in love with Spidey. In the end he somehow believes that wherever he goes chaos will follow so he isolates himself and yet he doesn't turn into a broody cruel vigilante. The friendly neighbourhood spider man.

He wanted the best of two worlds. Being a great superhero, and having a wonderful civilian life. Here he realizes he needs to choose one, and sacrifice the other.

I bet everyone feels for Peter in this scene excellent acting by all these three young actors

I love how he went on this insane journey just to have it all be forgotten. He's truly become the spiderman we all know and love!

Those long pause, terrific acting man.

Tom Holland deserves an oscar just for this scene

In the cinema, it hit me a lot: when MJ waves but actually to Ned and how after she kindly attends to Peter afterwards, 3:38 but at this second it seems like MJ seems like feel to remember him.. I am moved that she still has the black dahlia necklace that Peter gave her and also how Peter says that phrase from MJ about "if you expect to be disappointed, you will not be disappointed" and how he later says that "it is no longer offered to him: NOTHING MORE" while he seems to hold back tears.. It is an uncontrollable pain in my heart, to see his girlfriend and his best friend in the distance. It would be a true gesture of love that Peter still frequenting that cafe to see Mj and Ned even if they don't remember it

The same old life of Peter Parker, the man just constantly suffers for the good of others :’(

probably the best ending to a marvel movie, loved the end more than the whole film

Its a powerful scene. Peter fully accepted the cost of his mistakes of trying to balance 2 different lives and take advantage of it. Tobey's and Andrew's Spiderman lost their loved ones, as it also the one who made them realizes that actions have consequences and great powers comes with great responsibility. Tom's Spiderman reflects on the Spiderman we knew in the comics and other series.

Peter Parker is the only character who scarifice his happiness for others. Painful very painful

This scene says so much on so many levels. I cry each time I see this scene.

I’m gonna be honest. I wasn’t a fan of Holland Spider-Man but after this movie and what he has been through, and the ending, it sold me. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for him.

Man this scene broke me in half. Fuck. One of those endings you wish wouldn’t happen, but had to happen. And I love it for that exact reason. But yeah, it broke me in half

I know that this is how Spider-man is-- selfless and sacrificing-- but... :( Damn, I'm still gonna miss this trio! MJ and Ned are such good characters. I hope they both return in future films, even if they don't remember! What a bittersweet ending for sure.

I just realized MJ waving to Ned and peter thinking it was for him is exactly like what happens in the og spiderman movie with Tobey lol

This scene did justice to Tobey's universe so well. The imperfect Peter, good kid with power & responsibility being always selfless for his own.

honestly the best scene in the movie. the only one that didnt revolve around memberberries and actually tried something. but now it fully depends on whether the 2 will come back on sequel and figure out his identity again or if the movie has balls to just drop the 2 and push for independent spidey

That scene fricking killed me!!! With everything Peter's been through, to not have your 2 strongest confidantes to lean on, it's like a piece of you is forever gone.

Taking care of yourself is not what being a hero is all about, it’s taking responsibility for other people.

This is exactly how it feels like to be madly in love with someone but not knowing how to make the first move 😢

Spider-Man No Way Home was amazing, the nostalgia, the three Spider-Men together, this final swing was the perfect way to end the movie 👏👏👏🕸🕷

I was a little scared there at first, that they were gonna make Ned and MJ a thing there. I was glad that they didn't and instead went the way they did.

This movie is the best of all MCU movies/series. Change my mind.

Tom has showed his acting skills in this movie. The scene after aunt died and this particular secen. He nailed the role. ❤

Spider-Man being my favorite character this just hits different. The man who is destined to lose everything for the sacrifice for others is just difficult to watch. This scene brings me to tears every time because he’s sacrificing his happiness for others around him.

Him just glancing at Ned is great, and Ned into his phone is perfect. Great directing.

Poor Peter Parker, All alone. No Father Figure, No Aunt, No Best Friend, No Girlfriend and no Friends. All Alone Forever
