    same! every little detail gave it a nostalgic feel. the old/rundown appt like from tobey's universe with the accent of the guy asking for rent, the police radio, the fact that he's a nobody again and has to actually keep his ID a secret, and to top it off-- he made his own suit this time! they nailed the ending IMO and it really set his next 3 movies up well to give him a proper origin story :)

    Not trying to sound off beat or coming out as arrogant from this opinion but please hear me out on this one, I think in the future movies they should sort of reinvigorate Peter Parker's character since his happiness, solace and a sense of fulfillment is what actually matters at the end of the day and for all of us. hope they balance out his spider man and Peter parker versions perfectly for him to complete his character arc.

  • @jtthomas7349

    @jtthomas7349

    @gorilla5651 Not sure what you have in mind by "reinvigorate" but I think after breaking his character down like they did, it gives them a great opportunity to build his character back up with a fresh story. Move away from the "Ironman's sidekick" dumb kid "oh no what do I do? I'm just a kid" version of the character and take it in the direction of a badass mid 20s Spider-man in his prime. Then maybe add Miles Morales as his apprentice later on like they did with the PS4 Spider-man games.

The fucker is dead, and no matter what disney tries to tell you, Spiderman, the character is bigger deal than Iron Man could EVER be with 500 RDJs playing him. This movie was next to perfect for story and nostalgia, and even though TOny isnt mentioned, the allusions to him brought it down from a 10 to about a 9. In November 2021, producer Amy Pascal revealed that Sony and Marvel Studios were planning on making at least three more Spider-Man films starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, with work on the first of those films getting ready to begin. Marvel Studios and Sony were actively developing the film's story the following month. Writers had begun work on the film in February 2023, with Pascal confirming at the end of May that the film was still in development but that work was put on hold because of the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike that began earlier that month, and that work would resume after the strike concluded. By that time, Holland reiterated that the film was in early stages of development and that he had been involved in meetings about it, which were also put on hold because of the writers' strike." As much as i loved his interactions with Tony, him being Stark's protege with all of Stark's ressources took away from the, uh, Spidey-Ness of Tom Holland's Spider-Man, which was a shame, because i still think that he's the best live-action Spidey we ever had.

    The only thing missing from the classic story is Aunt May. Aunt May was always around, as someone who loved Peter and hated/feared Spider-Man. I know for a lot of people they may not care, but it's something that keeps this version from being completely true to the classic story.

    One thing i noticed during this film is that Tom enters the old apartment which would be his new home. Which is the same as Tobey Maguires Spider Man. He also lost his friends, including Mj. And Andrew Garfields Spider Man lost Gwen, which as he said was his Mj. And he has now lost May, and Tobey and Andrews Spider Man never lost May. In a way its now a full complete cycle. All three Spider Men have lost something, but Tom has lost more. But now Tom now knows he's not the only Spider Man out there. There are more of him out there.

    A lot of people liked the cameos, the nostalgia, etc. But I find the ending to be the best part of the movie. True Spider-man ending. Peter Parker lost everyone, but he doesn't give up, he keeps going and puts his happiness aside for the people he cares about. I am even surprised that such strong story ending came from the MCU, which likes to make everything lighthearted, chill and low-stakes for its heroes

    Took him 2 and a half films to finally get MJ, then it all got ripped away. I know this is all about how Spiderman grew and matured over the course of time, but I couldn't help but in tears by the end of this. MJ, May, Ned, etc. It's like having your whole life taken away in an instant. The only thing that pulled me out of that even slightly is the fact that Tom and Zendaya are together irl. Still didn't make me feel any better about the character's plight, though.

    This ending bit. There’s lot of fanservice and believe me, I’m a big fan, but it feels like Peter really, truly, and maybe for the first time, chooses altruism over all else. In Homecoming, he wanted to be a bona-fide super hero and wanted the validation and approval of Tony Stark; in Far From Home, he wanted to give up the super hero life or otherwise lower the stakes for himself so he can more easily be Peter Parker; and for majority of No Way Home, he wanted to be a super hero but without either losing nor hurting the people he loved. Say what you will about how necessary Parker’s choice to be alone is, but the symbolism and payoff for his character development is profound and this part of the movie does that the justice it deserves. Sony, if you’re reading this, PLEASE let this mean something. If you turn around and make this crucial part of the movie not matter similarly to how Disney invalidated the end of WandaVision in Multiverse of Madness my heart will be broken

    Wandavision's ending was very self-contradictory. Writers tried to walk the line between the pole of making Wanda truly villainous and the pole of her being sympathetic. However, they made her too much a villain, so when they tried to present her as misunderstood in the finale, it was hard to accept and the whole story unraveled. That's why I excuse MoM for scrapping it. Although technically Strange still lets Wanda off the hook, which is out of character.

    2:11 - full stop. He came into the shop hoping to rekindle his relationship with MJ, and then his friendship with Ned. When he sees the band-aid all those hopes are whisked away like the breath in a cold shower because he's reminded of how close he came to actually irreversibly losing them both. So at 2:50 he makes a decision and I'll be damned if those aren't tears swelling out of nowhere in Holland's eyes and that's one remarkable bit of acting. Just in case we couldn't tell that being Spider Man is dangerous for those around him, the movie hammers us over the head with it. To be fair, Toby Maguire's Spider-Man did the same thing in the movie, and he did eventually have a happy ending, so here's to hoping.

Something about the way he breathe gives off this feeling of loneliness as well. There's no joy in it like it was before. The best part of this entire scene are the little moments most people miss but subconsciously know! It’s not what’s being said, it’s what isn’t being said. The excitement Peter feels when Ned walks in the room, the love he still has for MJ, the way she looks at him like she’s falling in love with him all over again…and the heartbreak Peter feels when he tries to keep his promise to her, but realizes that he might ruin their lives again if he does. You can tell he just wants to run into their arms and tell them everything that happened, make everything normal again. But he can’t. That would be selfish, and everything that happened prior to this would’ve been for nothing. Even though it’s Christmas, what's supposed to be the happiest time of the year, Peter just has to accept it and stay alone because he loves them more than his selfishness wants them back. He wants to mourn with Happy, but he can’t say anything. He can’t talk about Aunt May and Tony Stark to the one friend he had who would understand his loss. All he can do is make a new suit, go out into the cold, and do what he does best…putting everyone before himself! That's why he's the superhero of superheroes!

    At the end, he turns to a Toby-ish Spiderman version. He rents the apartment similar to his, most of things don't work. He makes a FULL suit alone for the first time, he has a radio with crime news and he didn't tell MJ what he wanted. Oh, and he has his Spiderman final end scene swing.

    How anyone likes this ending is beyond me. He lost everyone he cared about. All to spend his life helping an ungrateful, viscious public who will turn on him the second they get bored or some loud mouthed twat thinks it will further their career. I truly pity the boy.

    Great film. Peter is a better man now, a better Spiderman, because he knows everything know about being a hero and being a man 👍🏻 looking out for the little guys. 🕷️🕸️ Really a great film. I like Marvel and DC, i just wish DC did their bullshite film (s) like this, with continuity, instead of rushing it. They could have done this with darksied, like what they did with Thanos.. all the way up to this film... you know.
