    "Climbing walls, how you doing that? Adhesive gloves?" Minor thing, but I like that line. I like that Tony tried to come up with a technical explanation on Peter's powers rather than instantly assuming that "oh you've got the gimmick and abilities of a spider, I assume you got those abilities from a radioactive spider as well and it's in your DNA?" He probably first assumed spider man was some kid who accidentally found a bootleg super soldier serum and his other abilities are just tech.

    @@MrKingYuji Right . They never really have gone into exactly how this version of Spiderman got his powers. They only ensure that the audience gets the idea they clearly aren't natural as Peter alludes here to something he doesn't really seem to know how to explain happening to him 6 months previously to change him. Most likely because the story of the origin of the character gaining his spider abilities after being bitten by a radioactive ( original plot ) or genetically enhanced ( modern updated plot ) spider at a lab is already so well known by everyone they probably don't think they really have to spell it out. Or they were going to make a future surprise revelation, like the spider indeed having been enhanced with Super Soldier serum or version of it. My guess is this Peter's story would be about the same as Toby Maguire's school field trip to the lab version. It makes the most sense and is a less contrived way to get him there. He probably wouldn't even know himself exactly what experiments they were doing with the spider that lead to his newfound physical changes and abilities which would make it pretty hard for him to explain .

    I really like how they waited 4 years to use the, "with great power comes great responsibility" line, but they still incorporated the concept at 2:37. Edit: A year later after writing this comment I realized that the entire first 3 movies were about this. Peter Parker does whatever he can against his better judgement to ensure the best result, soley because he is the only one who can help. In homecoming, after trying to prove himself to Tony, he remembers that the reason he played the hero role was because he had to by virtue of being capable of doing so. Despite being un-apprenticed by Tony, with no real motivator, he still helps out, just because he can. Even until the very end of the movie, he could have let Vulture die, but he elected himself to help everyone, even if it is difficult in the long run. His handling of power wavers. In Far From Home, after Tony's death, he finds himself with Tony's greatest weapon, but steps down from the responsibility to have the power bared by someone else. Only after realizing that he was granted this great power because he was expected to be responsible with it, he goes against all odds to repair the damage he has made. His handling of responsibility wavers. In No Way Home, we're met with absolute catastrophe in his life. All odds are against him, there is no great weapon, there is no obligation to help, and with everything on the line, he has an easy and ethically sound solution to his problem, but he still persists simply because he might be able to help. Though it being the difficult route, he still endures through the most sound resolution. And even at the very end, he distances himself from his only friends, to avoid putting them back into harm's way. In this last movie, he balances power and responsibility perfectly. The trilogy honestly just tells the story of a weak and irresponsible teen learning to hone himself and produce greatness for the people around him despite the immeasurable trifle in his life. In the end, he sacrifices his well being consistently as a means to fully utilize his power and bare the responsibility of the safety of his city, all while stepping out of the shadow of the people who raised him and truly becoming his own man.

    @@director1336 I get what your saying. Some actors are just stuck in a certain personality that most fans want to see them as. It mostly happens with comedians. When you throw them in a serious role, it usually doesn't resonate well with the audience. Its like Jim Carry in the "number 6" I think it was called. Was an horror movie from a while back. Just terrible lol, had nothing to do with his acting, it just you cant take him serious when he is trying to be. But yeah I love Roberts performance, he has a wide range. We all remember "tropic thunder" when he was playing as Sarg. He actually improvises alot in his film, Tom is a good actor to catch on and follow with it. It's like when they are in the back of starks limousine, and Tony reaches over Peter to open his door. Tom thought it would be funny to hug him when he done it, and Tony didn't step out of character to respond to it. So the producers kept the scene in the movie. Great chemistry.

Spider Boy did it just because of his own strength. That is what Tony was getting at. Sure, Spider Boy mutated, but he didn't need any external help to stop that car.

    1:22 This whole sequence here, complete with him looking goofily into the goggles, was really him being super smart and likely figuring out what adjustments and features he should add to the suit for Peter. Think about it, he finds out that: -Peter has amazing reflexes -Peter doesn't need a new web formula -Peter made the webbing himself and is very smart -Peter doesn't need adhesive gloves or shoes -Peter needs to have sensory-related adjustments All from this one wholesome scene.

  • @HylianKnight02

    @HylianKnight02

    I think that reflex, before Far From Home focused on it, was the subtle nod to his Spider-Sense without actually going into detail on it, he catches it with his non-dominant hand (We see he's right handed in Homecoming), without looking, the near instant it's thrown at him. And, if Spider-Sense works similarly in the comics, and it doesn't activate around people he trusts (Which is how it doesn't trigger when Aunt May sees him in the suit at the end of Homecoming), he's on edge in this moment, he's meeting his hero, since the boy in Iron Man 2 is in fact Peter, but he also just got his secret identity found out, so his Spidey-Sense is kicking into gear.

"After what [Aunt May's] been through," "When you can do the things that I can, and you don't, and then the bad things happen, they happen because of you." I wonder if this was misdirection, or if they decided after the fact to diverge from the formula. But I love where it landed, because at this point, we were sick of seeing Spider Man's origin. Another uncle Ben, another choked up Peter suffering his canon event. Lulls us into a false sense of security. All that's behind him, we can see where he's going to go. Skip to the new stuff we haven't been shown a dozen times. Lo an behold, the whole trilogy was the origin story and they did it to us again, and made us cry like a bunch of suckers. Masterful patience in storytelling.

    The suit we see in the KZread video is a different suit from the one we see in Homecoming. The undershirt and sweatpants are Navy Blue rather than Baby Blue, the goggles are outside the mask instead of being inside, and the lenses are black instead of white.

  • @NACLGames
    @NACLGames2 жыл бұрын

    I wonder how many viewers actually noticed how clever they set up Tony to be in this scene. Tony figured out tons of stuff just poking around. For example, he noted the very few places the suit could have been hidden, decided it was probably the ceiling, and immediately picked up the very stick Peter probably uses to get it himself, noting it had no other probable purpose. Then he talks to Peter about his powers and equipment, which sounds very casual. But he's already designing his new suit in his head, noting the key points like Peter makes his own webbing cartridges, his wall-climbing is an inherent power, and he needs eye filters. Tony also wouldn't have come here if he didn't already suspect Peter would respond the way he did to the question of why does he do this hero stuff.

    I don't think Tony was expecting the response. I think he expected Peter to be like him at that age- some hotshot kid out for a joyride. He wasn't prepared for him to be incredibly mature for his age, and wise in a lot of ways his contemporaries were not.

    I love that moment when Peter says _"when you can do the things that I can, and then the bad things happen... they happen because of you"_ because you can see Tony's eyes look down a little, likely as he's self-reflecting on the bad things that happened because of him, which led him to become IronMan. The words of that teenager just hit him right in the heart at that moment.

    I take it as more that Peter just made Cap's argument against the Accords, while Tony is recruiting Peter to fight Cap. Cap's position is that he won't be bound to an authority to which he must ask permission "to do the right thing". He doesn't want to be in a situation in which he is denied permission to act because then, due to inaction "the bad things are because of you".
