fun fact! "the zone" is actually called a flow state! it's a well researched topic, it's that sort of feeling when your thoughts become more conceptual and you're just calm+focused on what you're playing (and you'll probably lose track of time). It can happen with lots of other activities too, not just video games! There's a lot more brain activity in different parts of your brain when you're in flow, highly recommend looking it up!

any ways on getting into the zone more and more often? Asking bc whenever I used to do that (whether it's with all-nighters, work, workouts, cooking, drawing, writing down drafts of whatever writing piece, etc.) everything goes smoothly, I complete a lot of the stuff I wanted, and everything ends impressively (and if not impressively then at least not in a dumpsterfire kind of ending). Nowadays it's rare for me to get into the zone so when I do I cling onto it like it's the only priority in the world bc I know if I let that zone fade away, I won't ever get it back for a long time (think months or even longer than that) and when I try to get back, I'll never complete as much or do things as well and smoothly. Taking all that into consideration you can imagine how frustrating it is to have that zone fade and how helpless one can feel right after.

Awesome to see the Rhythm Heaven series getting the love it deserves! Something that helps me stay calm during a high-stakes run (though, thankfully the stakes have never been *this* high, except on "Try For Perfect!" attempts.) is taking a breath in for four beats, and then out, in time with the song. Makes me feel focused and in-sync with it. Sometimes I time my breathing with certain prompts (like the spiders in Packing Pests) but I dunno if I'd recommend that ;^u^

the fact that she puts herself through so much to do these speedruns is insane, I love how she looks for more obscure speedrun records to surpass lol

Awesome work as usual, Jaiden and your team! You're an amazing storyteller and that translates so well in your animation. And rhythm games look simple, but require so much focus and attention, it's insane. I feel the same anxiety playing them, god forbid if I ever attempted speedrunning them haha! I laughed so hard at the part when Jacob joins the call, perfect animation with the mute button 😂

Thankyou jaiden, for years i have wondered the name of this game as i used to play it on my DS as a child but could never remember the name and finally you have answered my question, ill be able to get re-hit with nostalgia once more

OSRS Jad. Fighting through almost an hour of easy monsters just to get two-shot by Jad is ROUGH. Or even getting to Jad’s healers only to miss a single prayer. He’s TOTALLY beatable, but it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

Great job Jaiden you are so good at speedruns

I like how the "Jaiden as [character]" levels are so high in this one that Jaiden has to render two Jaidens in most scenes

The eyes animations in this are absolutely wonderful!

Going for all perfects was pretty dang hard took me months for the last remix but still a 10 out of 10 rhythm game one of my absolute favorites

I love how TinyJaiden has become a constant thing - it's great. Two types of energy and both are awesome.

I've been getting into beat saber lately and I have to say my best runs are when I'm not trying to 100% perfect the run. Whenever I'm like "huh that was nearly perfect let me try it again" I always put more pressure on myself and do worse lol. Now I have turned off the hud, score, combo meter, etc and just play. I don't see my score until the end. It's more fun and immersive too getting all the text outta the way.

I like how Jaiden was like “I’m falling apart mentally, it was so bad” and then makes the background music for the video rhythm heaven fever game music

I saw the thumbnail, immediately knew what she was talking about and went: "Oh no, Jaiden! Don't do this to yourself." And here she did.

Is it just me, or did Jaiden look like Komi multiple times through out the video? It’s hilariously cute

If I were you in that moment, I would have had a heart attack and would actually have to go to the hospital because I’m dying just because I stayed in a horror game without dying longer then 10 seconds. You kept trying, and you made a record! Good job! There are people that give up on the first try, but you are not one of those people, keep making things like this!

Those "Little mistakes" are called "Barely". Barely hits are counted as a miss or as a hit depending on the minigame on older RH games. Starting on Fever though, all barely hits are counted as misses. However, in an older rhythm heaven game, you could get a Superb medal while getting all barely hits lol (lockstep is the best example).

They also didn't count against perfect runs, making getting a perfect in lockstep much easier in Rhythm Heaven DS compared to Megamix on the 3DS

Modder here Barely hits are considered a miss in the code, they impact your score negatively, but not as much as a total miss

Jaiden is my favorite animator in my opinion, she doesn’t take two years to make an animation, her animations are definitely smooth and entertaining, the most important things

I see Jaidens brain is structured a lot like mine. A giant jenga tower that gets shakier and shakier until one simple mistake causes the entire thing to crumble.

I never imagine Jaiden being a speedrunner as much as a person that suffers while timing themselves from start to finish.

my top 5 favorite things that jaden has ever said: "i was in it the ZONE....."

I will say some of the animations looks so cool and was in ways I didn’t expect, when she was talking about FF2 animated was a version of the robot but it was her drinking water and it just made me realize woah that’s so good I don’t want to stop looking at it, now I can’t finish a glory of a video because im looking at a smooth sphere robot human head Edit: this also happens in the tap troupe sun section for remix 10 right after and then the discord thing, some of this stuff just seems so realistic but yet not and I can’t stop thinking about it

that "a little bit wrong" moment is called a "barely;" in this game they're counted as mistakes, but in Rhythm Heaven on the DS (rhythm heaven gold in japan) there are a few games that consider a barely to be "good enough." ...i'm also wondering if there is a blindfolded category...

They also effect your score much less than full misses, but dont be going out of your way to get them

There is indeed a blindfold category for Rhythm Heaven Fever. Honestly, I feel like the hardest bit about that would be the menuing and not actually playing the game, since everything in the minigames has audio cues. At the start of those speedruns you have to go to the Wii home menu to hit restart and it takes about 20 seconds while blindfolded so take that as you will.

@@jaxweby4343 from what I’ve seen of blindfolded runs, the only issue in mini game wise is built to scale because there is no indicator what side you start on, so you have to memorize the side the peg enters on.
