I've never seen anyone, in my life, better in their prime. People don't understand, that in his prime, he was the antics and the SHOW. Mayweather was NO RJJ in his prime. You're not telling me anything other than that. Not just the antics but dude was knocking dudes out FOR REAL. His ambition of wanting to show he was better than literally everyone resulted in him going up in weight and eventually winning the title..but this was a "catch 22" moment..there we repercussions behind it. This was the result of him losing to Tarver as a Light Heavyweight. Roy could have stayed at Middlleweight and dominated there for as long as he wanted that would have been fine. But he knew he could go up and he did and beat a beast Ruiz. This man was everything I loved about boxing. RESPECT for this video fellas!

Roy Jones was one of my favorites as he was such a class act; tough, fast, accurate. strong, talented, and never an embarrassment to the sport as we see in so many others.

RJJ top 5 p4p all time and a case to be made for #1. Throughout the 90s he was untouchable, barely ever lost a round and (flash) knocked down just once while he casually took apart every top name in his chosen weight classes with ease. Toney, Hopkins, McCallum, Pazienza, Hill, Griffin, Reggie Johnson all beaten with very little effort. That he chose to stubbornly fight on once his reflexes had diminished shouldn’t stain his legacy. No one will remember his losses to fighters he’d have beaten with 1 hand in his prime. Roy is a legend of the sport, a true hall of famer and huge part of boxing history.

Roy Jones was a great fighter. But you're either too young to remember. Or it has slipped your mind. No one ,and I mean no one. Had come close to Muhammad Ali, before he shocked the world. Before they took away his license, to fight. He was the smartest man I've ever met in my life. He could outwit, the best commentators in The world. Destroyed them mentally. And it carried over in his fights. There were fighters that could stay with him after he got his license back. But before no one came close. Joe Frazier, Kenny Norton, George Forman ,Ron Lyle,Earney Shavers, all these fighters fought Ali, after he got his license back, he would have destroyed all of them before the government, stripped him from fighting. People are also forgetting, how good Sonny Liston was. Ali was as fast as Roy Jones was, when Roy Jones was a middleweight and Ali ,was a heavyweight, I would go so far as to say, even faster.. sports fans watch when these fighters fought. But when Ali's feet hit the canvas, the world listened , and tuned in.
