You seem to forget the characters that they never brought to the reboot such as Bobby’s son Lucas and JR’s ‘bastard’ son James and he had a kid who also would have been an adult by the time they were doing the reboot. Jenna and Charlie? It was a pity Jack’s actor Dack Rambo died, he was a good character. Wendell would have been ancient but he could have had an understudy or a kid! What happened to Michelle Stevens? She would have been great too. As for JR having a daughter at the end.. from who? I’m pretty sure Cally’s baby was a boy and why didn’t they make him a part of it? There was so much potential but they made it deteriorate into Mexican drug stories… such a waste!

This show had so much potential. But unfortunately the writers didn't use the original series to base the reboot off of. There was 14 seasons of Dallas characters and instead of using any of them like Margaret Krebbs, James Beaumont, charlie Wade, or any of the countless other children that could've made an appearance, they make up the Ramos family who claims to have known them for so long and "grown up" with John Ross and Christopher which never really happened. One scene Elana even claimed to have a memory of Pamela, Christopher's mother, which is impossible if you've watched the original series considering Theresa was the Ewing's house keeper during that time. There was no Ramos family. They never existed yet they are now main characters!? They could've even made Elana's character Sly's child or a member of the cartel's daughter or SOMETHING so it would actually make sense that they knew each other as children. Anything would've been better than making up an entire family and pretending like they're such close family friends. I swear true Dallas fans could've written better storylines than the new writers. 🤦

I don’t blame TNT for “screwing it up.” The problem was executive producer Cynthia Cidre. She produced this plot-driven, fast-paced show that had a lot going for it, but it just wasn’t “Dallas.” Cidre didn’t care to honor Dallas’ canon, and she missed countless opportunities to mine nostalgia. The new Dallas failed because of Cynthia Cidre.

The cow was offered top money to come back. She refused because in 1989 they let her go to cut price.

@@sarahwilson5101 you will find she was asked for the new show but declined. In the Original Dallas she worked on show for 9 years, until most of the writers had changed, Victoria did not like the way the show was going around 1987. Therefore wanted out to do other things.. The makers offered her a 2 year deal which she removed.. Please read more into it and you will find me correct.

None of the actors did great with the math. Everyone said "21 years since the original show went off the air". 1991 to 2012 is 21 years. Also the continuity was hideous in the writing. I was surprised the original actors agreed to some of the scripts/plots having know how mad the audience would be.

The new show was really good until Larry Hagman died. Then the show geared into Mexican soap opera territory. Season 3 was almost unwatchable and hardly resembled the original series at all.

A good reason to cancel it as well as lower ratings. The original was the best. The reboot was a good idea but nowhere near as good. If you weren't familiar with the original Dallas, the reboot would not have made any sense.

Wasn't it pulled because of the death of larry Hagman?
