SPEAKING OF MYSTERIES - James Lee Burke

Author of BITTERROOT, the third novel in a trilogy narrated by ex-Texas Ranger turned defense attorney Billy Bob Holland; CIMARRON ROSE and HEARTWOOD were the previous books in the series. He is also well-known as the author of the "Dave Robicheaux" series set in Louisiana, including BLACK CHERRY BLUES, IN THE ELECTRIC MIST WITH CONFEDERATE DEAD, DIXIE CITY JAM, BURNING ANGEL, CADILLAC JUKEBOX and PURPLE CANE ROAD. BLACK CHERRY BLUES and CIMARRON ROSE were winners of the annual Mystery Writers of America Edgar Awards, and he was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for THE LOST GET BACK BOOGIE.     There is this British movie called Night of the Demon. The bad guy hardly seems a bad at all. Sort of a good uncle. Horror movie yes but it has how the real world is. In truth, we need a score card to keep track off the bad guys. Honestly, we shouldn't look to long in the mirror.
