What a delight! I found you accidentally,by randomly picking out a book at the library, and haven't looked back.Mr Bourke, your characters are so real I could touch them, your landscapes swirl with colour and scent, your stories enthrall. And I love, love the 12 step references. Thank you is not enough.Blessings from Australia.

Dear Mr. Burke, I just discovered you 2 months ago. I am reading your books randomly but now wish I had started chronologically. You are in a category of your own. God bless you and your family. As always, YesSirRee Bob. p.s. Check out Willis Alan Ramseys' "Boy from Oklahoma" on CD or vinyl record. It's about Woody Guthrie.

James Lee Burke - What a delight to come across this video. I have listened to or read so many of your novels, I could not begin to name them all; and I hope that you, at some time, may read this comment and know that I consider you to be one of the best authors I've read - and I read A LOT.

I've heard such great things about A PRIVATE CATHEDRAL but had never read a Dave Robicheaux book, so I'm spending the summer doing a DR speed-run starting with THE NEON RAIN. Midway through BLACK CHERRY BLUES after 5 days, and absolutely loving this series and Burke's writing.

I'm a great admirer of your work Mr. Burke. I read White Doves at Morning and it was fantastic. Seeing where you do your work is fascinating. We have recovery in common, and that's one of the reasons that i'm such a fan of your books, and of Dave Robicheaux in particular.

Iv'e gone back to the bookstore the last couple of months and have been buying some of his older work. I thought I had read them all but I read so much who knows anymore. The point is it's some of his paperbacks of his i buy are like brand new to me. I remember some parts but not the whole book. This week I just re-read Pegasus Descending and Crusader's Cross. He truly stands alone in his writing.

I just pick up the Neon rain in my local bookstore . To my surprise I had never read it. The thing that stands out to me the most is when he tells Clete " Don't call me partner anymore"..Oh but the tale goes on.@@neilorourke3652

One of the greatest writers ever. And an old-school leftist. I'll continue to procure his work through the evil mechanics of capitalism. I hope that's okay.

I have a good idea for your preacher jack books. it could be the jack is younger and a GI in Germany in the 60's. I would even throw in a out line of ideas. It fits the historical context of the character and his interactions with his superiors and local persons. much like the caldron of his mental state.
