Would they hire a manager with little to no success at a major club? Yes, they've done it multiple times. Only in England do you have to have competed for major league titles and or the Champions League to get a decent club job. Also helps if you're from an in vogue foreign country. Which is why there'll never be a top England manager again, because the English managers that could be that aren't any chances to prove it. Even if you only look at managers that have only had success at international level, they've all done it. Rijkaard, Lopetegui and Klinsmann only had managed international teams. Big European clubs don't misplace so much emphasis on the manager, which is why theirs get a chance and England's don't.

He became a good right back. The first few years he wasnt very good. Obviously wasnt good enough to play his preferred position at CB. Fergie just seemed to stick anyone in at RB. Paul parker was good enough for CB, so put him RB. As mentioned there with Keano, we'll stick you RB for a while. Phil nev, john o shea, wes brown, smalling all played quite a few games there. I think because a lot of those players could play other positions they became squad players. Gary wasnt good enough to play other positions so was left at RB (occassionally back in at CB if there were injuries).....If gary was playing RB for another club would United have signed him? Absolutely gold, watching Gaz, trying to fight a double tag team now, with Keano & wrighty is magic!
I think Gary's take on which position is the most difficult is 100% spot on. GK and CF are both the two most isolated positions. CF you have to be insanely patient and, like he said, receive the ball with your back against play. GK you're inside your own head the entire game and have to be on it immediately when called upon, and every single mistake is scrutinized.

Underachieving? England hadn't been to a Semi Final in 30 years. They hadn't been in a Final for 60 years. Also, Klopp got FSV Mainz 05 relegated from the Bundesliga and won NOTHING. I would watch the hell out of a Roy Keane Netflix documentary.
The language we use when it comes to international football, terms like “Duty” “Drafted” as if it’s military service to defend the nation, it’s just a bloody friendly football match mate!
What a joy to watch and listen to the first part of this conversation

Without Carragher? Yes, absolutely agree. So much more relaxed.
The disgust from Roy when Wrighty suggested Ray Parlour beat him 😂

Wrighty had one of the best performances on Old Trafford this Sunday! The coventry draw was incredible! Thanks Wrighty.
Right back debate during the intro , brilliant😂😂😂
"His massive big polo necks and he doesn't look quite dressed like he looks like he's got the stature for Man United with Eric Ten Hag, sometimes you feel that" - Actual Ian Wright quote. 🤔
"At forest I did, but that was the year we got relegated" 😂😂😂
Love to see Neville actually defend himself for once 😂
Mainoo is going right to the very top… it’s such a breath of fresh air to see generational talent and the right attitude at such a young age. You can see he has a good head on his shoulders. Just like Bellingham, he won’t need leaders around him, cream rises, everyone will need to match their level. He is the future leader of Man United, mark my words
Dean Ashworth hasn’t even started his United role and United has already been linked to his friends, Graham Potter and Gareth Southgate. What a legend 😂
Des Walker was one of the best defenders i've ever seen. Rolls Royce of a player

*you.ll never beat des walker* as the fans used to chant
I would definitely pay to watch Keane & Wrighty going on a road trip somewhere like either around the UK & Ireland showing each other how their careers in football started etc or travel the US or whatever. They’d be plenty of laughter guaranteed

32:22 "I think he beat Lee twice in that run" Keane's snicker lol
I bet my house Gary Neville says “at this moment in time” at least three times (love the show btw)

On the rivalries between City vs Liverpool & United vs Arsenal - In order to play against Pep you can either play counter attack like Ole & Jurgen had joy with or you have to play better in possession than his teams But United vs Arsenal were firery encounters where all types of football were on display and although Pep has revolutionised the modern game, he has also taken pure football away from us also

Pure football? All these phrases are bs play in those emotional rash games and you get those 5-4 unpredictable score lines letting the occasion get to your head control is more efficient yes that football makes a good watch but it’s too unpredictable winning is the goal
The only show where the intro starts 20 mins in 😂
“Better the Neville you know” - Oscar winning documentary in the making!
1:06:13 “ the chuckle brothers “ belter wrighty 😂
Love the episodes in general but the casual chat at the start is always my favourite part
1:03:40 Roy has such good timing 😂
