United’s Press Leaks, Pep Lashes Out & Being Late! | Stick to Football EP 9

Спорт

Welcome back to Stick To Football with Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher, Ian Wright and Roy Keane - the original show from the award-winning The Overlap, brought to you by Sky Bet.
The panel kick-off the show with a Secret Santa draw. With Jill Scott already making her pick and absent from the episode, the five will return in a special Christmas episode with their secret gifts.
Gary and Jamie respond to Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s press conference quotes following Gary’s suggestion that City have become complacent and talk about how Arsenal are hitting the right form as they head into the festive fixtures.
Stick to Football also reacts to the latest off-field issues at Manchester United after former player Nemanja Matic revealed who and why team-mates were fined. Listen to how Gary, Ian, Jamie and Roy all dealt with club punishments during their professional career.
Super 6 is back with Ben; has Gary kept up his sizeable lead or has Roy managed to claw some ground back?
And we have your Community Questions. Find out the biggest sacrifice Gary had to make as a teenager who had just left school and which player made Ian’s introduction to football incredibly difficult.

Man that wrighty story at the end got me emotional. Can only imagine how he might of felt out of place or uncomfortable to start given his late professional start and to have someone treat him like that making him feel unwelcome. It's enough to make some players never recover, to have the career he did shows truly his mental strength and desire. Love you Ian the people's hero

Truly respect Ian Wright for telling that Jim Cannon story. You can see the emotion, and it takes a lot of character and bravery to show your vulnerability in front of 800k subs. If Martinez was still at Arsenal they'd be in with a shout this year - Ramsdale is not the one and Raya is a few years off being consistently good enough to have the confidence of his defenders and put doubt in strikers minds... It's very wholesome to see Roy Keane and Ian Wright have this wonderful friendship. Lot of folks don't know but they also shared a fairly aggressive rivalry on the pitch. Apparently sometime in the 90s Keane and Wright got into an argument during the game and Keane taunts him with "Where's your winners medal? Talk when you have one" or something along those lines. So end of 97/98 when Ian wright finally wins a PL. After he got the medal, he found the nearest camera and jokingly says "Look Roy, a PL medal". Rivals on the pitch to great friends off of it. Love their story.

Roy and Gary often have to follow his comments by bringing the topic back to the larger point that he's missing. One example is the late fine sheet, yes how it's spent is an issue, but he kept going back to that when the obvious important issue is that is exists at all. Ian seems to always do this, not just on this show, as well as not being very articulate. Again, nice guy, just fast forward to when he's done talking.

Never a bad episode always interesting topics , but the chemistry between these ex pros is what brings us here , the reason it's so captivating is because we all know what all of them have done in the game and all of them achieved at the very top . Such a great series ! Big shoutout to the production and all the guys behind the scenes aswell because this show is probably the best football show about atm ❤
