Ronnie also talks about fancying a record-breaking eighth world title in 2024 as he recently returned to the table following taking time out to look after his mental health.
Finally, Ronnie and Jamie Carragher take on Ian Wright and Roy Keane at the pool table… will the legendary snooker player put the former footballers in their place or is there a shock in store?

Ronnie is truly one of my all time favourite people and sportsmen. What an absolute legend of the game he is, and I hope he realises what an inspiration he is and how much he is adored. He's just a great down to earth guy with demons like we all have, so it's was so great to see him opening up and having fun. Thanks to all you guys at "The overlap." This is honestly the best channel out right now. Awesome, and I can't wait to see Ronnie's documentary.

An absolutely fantastic and insight episode. Ronnie O'Sullivan knows so much and experienced so much wrt the mental health, wellbeing and psychology required to be at the top of his beloved sport of snooker. That I hope and know that just like Ray Reardon to him, he will payitforward and eventually coach & mentor other professionals when he retires from the sport. Until then, I like many millions of others will continue to enjoy and feel blessed to be able to watch the 🙌🙌BEST EVER SNOOKER...RONNIE O'SULLIVAN🙌🙌

Ronnie is to snooker what Ali was to boxing. I really fear for the game when Ronnie eventually retires. Watching snooker when he's playing is a total joy, and unfortunately for the game, there is no other player who generates the same interest in watching the game as Ronnie. He is - in my opinion - the greatest ever to play the game.

Couldn't agree more, both athletes brought so many new fans to their sports with their incredible ability. Snooker, though, hasn't the same natural excitement & brutality that boxing has. Ali's absence created a big hole but there will always be excitement in boxing due to ko's & unpredictability. Snooker will always have the hard-core fans but Ronny brought fans outside of the hard-core fanbase. His style was so exciting people couldn't help but be drawn in. His absence will be sorely felt but like Sugar Ray Leonard after Ali maybe a new talent will emerge.

I’ve never been a huge snooker fan, but I remember it always being on as a kid - but then Ronnie came along and it made it more exciting & he had a mystique about him. Interesting, intelligent and as he said a vulnerability that made him the player he is. Great episode.

What I love most about this interview is that it’s completely destroyed the notion that ronnie has achieved what he has achieved through sheer talent. He’s studied and rebuilt his game over and over again and been coached a lot throughout his career and his willingness to put ego to one side and relearn his trade is his most impressive and underrated asset. Hard work beats talent when talent won’t work hard
