When I was 14 my 12 year old brother a Chelsea fan who was terminally ill with cancer had a wonderful trip to a Chelsea v City game. Chelsea got trounced 3-0 an Aguero hat-trick. After the game we met the players in the tunnel. John was expectional, took great time to talk with my father and brother taking pictures. My brother died 6 weeks later, four days afterwards my family received a hand written letter from John Terry and Chelsea about the experience of meeting my brother and how it impacted him. It was a class act and a superb touch. Myself and my family will always remember John Terry for this and hugely respect him as a man.

Do you remember when Sky has a show called “The Debate”? Simple concept, Dave Jones as presenter and then two football/football adjacent people on, discussing and, you guessed it, debating current talking points of the game. I remember Jordan being on it, before I really knew who he was, and he was fantastic on it. I may not always agree with him, but he doesn’t just throw out silly opinions without any thought going into them and can always back them up. Not sure why they got rid of that show as it was great, but regardless, since Jordan has turned up on TalkSPORT his three hours a day is some of the best sports discussion available.

@@nickfba Not then partner. Ex partner and all parties deny this including Wayne Bridge so even if it happened you´re carrying a grudge for a guy that does not even back it himself. And wasn´t he seen leaving nightclubs with birds multiple times at that time but no its big bad Terry that ruined that relationship. The media got you people wrapped around their finger in England you all still parrot those two media campaigns against Terry and act like he´s the worst person ever based on he said - she said situations. But at the same time are quick to forget what Ryan Giggs did to his own brother.

Simon continues to get great subjects for this show - can totally see why JT doesn't do many interviews tho ;-) Ironically his insight into the England setup was the most I got from this. It feels like that he's essentially saying the choice of managers and even tournament itineraries were the key reasons for the underachievement and that makes more sense than the mainstream media narrative that the players just didn't like eachother!

His presence his composure, his measured patience and confidence all very impressive and shows why he was the best CB and Captain in the premier league. His partnership with Carvalho was also the very best partnership in Europe two world class complimentary defenders who created history that still to this day and maybe never will beaten. It makes you think Jose back at Chelsea with JT as his assistant would be something to witness that im sure most Chelsea fans would love.

As a person of colour who played football all over the UK for 30 years but more primarily the north east of England I've been in situations and had to deal with off the cuff words in the heat of the moment. Only twice has my colour ever been Brought Into it factually and the situation was dealt with on the pitch and after as men right or wrongly we shook hands and my thoughts there after were mine.. The older I get the more I just think well there's obviously something missing in that person's life where they feel they need to talk to another human in that way
