Most millenials of that era, specifically from the 90's and forward, are pretty retarded. Not all of them i guess, but seriously. I never understood the appeal to souljaboy, even when crank dat was like the biggest song ever at the time. Like, ill crank up the volume on my n64 before i crank up anything related to souljaboy. Or pretty much anything else related to music of that era.

I remember the old console. A Chinese bootleg with Nintendo roms on it and then he complained that people didn't want a black person to succeed in the video game business. He needed someone to smack him with a book on copyright before he was allowed to play the racism card.

Yep. Back in the day when I did PS2 emulation, to do it legally, you couldn't download the operating system legally. You had to dump it to a USB drive from a console that you owned.

I'm not all that surprised tbh. He's certainly not alone, in recent years I've seen lots of prominent KZread content creators who are just as clueless about intellectual property rights, even though intellectual property is their job. They think they're free to use content owned by others as they see fit and when they get striked for it they make a video where they cry about "fair use", as if that's some catch-all excuse for all kinds of copyright infringement, and how the "big, evil corporation" wants to steal their money.

@@MLennholm I just want to say, fair use is a real thing, a real law that people are ignoring so they can copyright strike someone to steal their money. To make a video from another’s creation and changing it significantly is under fair use

I feel like soulja boy missed the opportunity to make a brand new revolutionary design for his console by building in a cranking lever on it, so when every time you want to turn it on, you gotta crank that.

Based on the Jontron video, he was just buying cheap shit from China and selling it for much more in the west with his name slapped on it. This apparently isn't illegal, but doesn't fix the problem with the licenses for the games.

That’s exactly correct. He is selling previously made emulation consoles with a mark up. He’s basically flipping them. It’s like scalping, but you’re “rebranding” the product before you re-sell it.

So having the known icons like Pikachu, Charizard, Megaman, Sonic and etc... This also violates trademarks that is owned by the developers/companies. I first heard about the Soulja Boy "consoles" a couple years back from a KZread channel called Rerez, whose videos were both hilarious and informative. He actually does some exploring of the consoles and the absolutely wonderful games on them too, and they're still nothing like what's being advertised. So not only are these illegal knockoffs, they're illegal knockoffs that are using false and misleading advertising, which is also highly illegal. It's truly facepalm-worthy.

I have a feeling that souljatwat went onto abandonware and thought the games on there were actually abandoned.

"My console isn't going anywhere" Yeah we know it's not going anywhere, no one is going to buy them...

Oh this time he's going to get sued. "Cease and desist" doesn't come with a term limit, once you're told, you've been told.

and he sold it like $200-400 each? Better just buy parts for a pc then just install an emulator. It may not be a powerful pc, but it's still far better than that motherboard + control input only (with no RAM) console like what Sold-ya (garbage) was reselling
