I have this A55.. I love it, specially for the bluetooth receiver functionality. I just wish it have usb c. I'm sure to get one in the future should they use usb c on the A60. I don't like the A100 series despite having usb-c for it's bad battery life.

I have just discovered your channel and have immediately subscribed because you are reviewing products that am interested in. My advice if you want your channel to grow quickly, continue making comparison videos. Often we come on KZread because we want to know which products deserve our money than others. Second advice put purchasing links for the products you review or compare. For example you have convinced me with the value of the Sony Nw55 DAP but I don't know where I can buy it since it is not available in Europe yet... if not you have good taste. Continue showing us good stuff and your channel will quickly grow.

It is available in Europe but as I guess only so far from this website, I got one already and pretty happy with it.

This was exactly the kind of review I was hoping to find ! I was concerned that since the A55 is a 24-bit DAC it might not sound as nice as a dedicated device with 32-bit DAC. Your comparison convince me otherwise. Cheers !

280usd vs 70usd though.... but i can see how the A55 is better. lucky you have both.

the btr3 has an app for equaliser settings btw.

Good info, im planning to get the nw-a55 mainly for it BT reciever and DSEE HX functionality. Oh i hear u say you have a note 9, how good is it as mp3 player, the sound quality, just curious, i see alot of review saying the audio output is good.

Audio output on the note 9 is not as good as the Sony but it is quite good

I would be interested to know, can you simultaneously receive and output bluetooth with the sony aw-55? As in, could your computer connect to the sony, and then your sony bounces the bluetooth to some bluetooth headphones/speakers?

This question is exactly what I wanted to know. So these are two totally different devices. Guess I’ll go with the Fiio because I want to use my Beats over the head wired headphones with my iphone. And thanks for this video because I never know of this Sony device. It’s still very cool!

@@DanPRC Do you know that the Fiio can actually do that though? It would be worth asking somebody who's reviewed it. The sony can certainly output and receive bluetooth, it just can't do both simultaneously. My assumption would be, that the only way to achieve that would be through a device that was both a bluetooth receiver, outputter and had bluetooth 5.0, seeing as 5.0 was the first iteration of bluetooth that was capable of connecting to multiple devices at once. My advice would be to check what your Beats can do. I wouldn't be surprised if their technical capabilities don't encompass this, but my bose qc35ii headphones can intelligently pick whichever device is currently playing music between up to two devices (if I pause the music on the first device, I am then able to play seamlessly on the second device.)

Can we use Sony/any TV's output as input to this Walkman (as USB DAC) .At night I don't want to disturb family while watching songs on my Sony TV and want a great sound output too.

Plz suggest some in ear earphone for sony a55??

my A55 (USA) won't pair w/ my Beats Flex wtf - any suggestions ? all other BT devices (iphone) turned off when i try.

Yes you can

Very easy to listen to but would suggest he slows down slightly his rate of talking to allow you to take in the information. The biggest problem for me is that on several of his movies he constantly moves his hands holding the MP3 player. To the viewer you just see the items screen bouncing up and down whilst you are trying to read the screen. Being new to the MP3 would have welcomed how to download CD's through Sony Music Centre using the A55

it does sound better especially using the balanced output on the BTR5 using the sound on the 3.5mm sounds the same

@@Sonatarium That's odd, I have an Anker motion plus and my a55 connects flawlessly..

If you consider the fiio is not a player, the Sony is more value for money. Factor in the quality, the Sony pulls ahead quite a bit further.

Well, considering the price on the Sony it should be more. But I actually own a btr3 and for the price you do get quite a bit of value considering its around a third of the cost of the Sony. It's really perfect for me to use the bt3 because I have a pair of non wireless headphones that I like, and with the btr3 I connect it with ldac to my phone and voila, wireless headset that I also can answer to phonecalls. (and I have a Sony phone so a lot of those settings in the nw55 is already in my phone) I also use the bt3 as a DAC to my computer/ps4 from time to time. Also, the Fiio does have an eq in the app that actually saves the settings in the device so it won't change when I switch inputs. The Fiio is pretty versatile imo. :-)

So, you're comparing a Sony DAP with a Fiio DAC. It would be like comparing the sound of an LG V30 phone with the Fiio BTR3, which also isn't a phone or a DAP :-). If you were comparing the Sony used as an external DAC, that would make more sense, but what we have here is a video that says, " This Sony NW A55 sounds better than a Fiio DAC". The Fiio is a BT receiver / DAC. Both support Hi Res BT ( LDAC etc ), and can be paired to create a Hi-Res wireless connection to an audio system. The idea is that the Sony is the player/transmitter of digital Hi-Res, the Fiio is the Hi-res encoder and audio line stage.

The Sony is also a receiver I am merely talking about convenience ...I have both and each has their own uses for me ...some people might one over the other hence the comparison....and I do like the FIIO sound 👍
