Hey , can I ask you something ? , I have the sennheiser hd 4.40 bt , this is a Bluetooth headphone that comes with wire too , can I use the brt3 with this headphones wired and it going to work correctly? , sorry for my English btw

  • @Katzelle3

@@WindargRx It seems that the HD 4.40 BT should work with any audio device featuring a 3.5 mm audio jack, which would include the FiiO BTR3. When the included audio cable is plugged in, then all wireless features are automatically deactivated and they should work like wired headphones. The impedance is also fairly low, so you shouldn't have any trouble amplifying the volume from the BTR3.

Been using Sony SBH-20 & 50s for years now. I'm sure the Fiio sounds better, as I have a couple of their headphone amps, but with the Sonys I can talk with no problems using it's built in mic with my Shure SE215 earbuds while riding a bicycle at 20mph, let alone just around the house with my other headphones too. Have a couple of MEE audio - BTR Portable Bluetooth receivers too that I use when I'm nervous about rain or in a situation like working on the car, where the Sonys might get messed up, and they communication well also. Given Fiio's rep, I wonder if you just received one with a subpar mic?

Dave, I was just wondering since I own an iPhone 5 (and an iPhone SE waiting in the wings) with music in 128K MP3 what codec would my just-newly-obtained FiiO BTR3 read on it??? I own several pairs of both Headphones and IEM's with my current faves being a pair of Sony MDR-NC60 Noise Canceling headphones in 100 ohms passive/40 ohms active, and also a pair of Sony MDR-EX700SL IEMs in 16 ohms. I was quite disappointed with my previous unit, my Sony SBH-56 Bluetooth headphone receiver due to its low volume output and lack of bass punch and wondered how much louder this unit is compared to the Sony. Your music's encoding has no influence on what codec is chosen for Bluetooth transmission. Everything will be decoded and re-encoded anyway. If you're using an iPhone it will probably default to AAC for Bluetooth and give you excellent transmission quality. What's really preventing you from hearing what your BTR3 and headphones are capable of with your setup is that 128 kbps MP3 quality of your files. Try getting the same music as 256-320 kbps MP3s or M4A/AAC and you should hear a big improvement just from that. (For example if you buy from Amazon Music they will be 256 kbps MP3s or from Google Play they will be 320 kbps MP3s.)

Best-case, you could look at the Shanling UP4, which avertises 15h of autonomy vs. the FiiO's 11h, in a somewhat larger form factor, and with more output power.

Depends on the Samsung phone, but I would say you can expect better stereo separation and a wider soundstage because a phone doesn't have much room to design the audio circuits well and keep the L and R signals from bleeding into eachother. The BTR3 has excellent channel separation and a better DAC chip than pretty much any phone you could think of.
