Thank you my brother I just purchased this cam and am camera illiterate so you are def helping me . Seemed like a great cam for my fishing vlog have been editing with Adobe pro from newb status too . 😂 I am def on struggle bus but am doing decent I think . But thanx again I def Subbed 👊

I have the Camera for almost 3years now and I haven't got into details on how capable it is on a lot of things and never thought a lot of people still use it, and I feel like it's just a low end camera gear so I badly wanted/needed to have those expensive gears without appreciating this one... anyways, thanks so much again, new sub here 💙😊

Totally agree about the a5100. I picked mine up nearly 4 years ago thinking I'd upgrade quickly, but I'm still using it regularly! As for the speakers they're the Alesis Monitor One mk2. Thanks for checking out the channel!

Hey Arron. Do you know if there is a setting that I can flip the external monitor view. when the monitor is facing me I see the left and right flipped because the monitor is facing the other way from the camera.

I bought the sigma 1.4 16mm lens. I don't feel I'm using it correctly with the a5100. Wonder if you've tired it with the a5100. Haven't seen any videos with this camera and lens pairing ;)

The A5100 is a great little camera! I use it almost all the time for the BTS videos on my youtube channel. As well as take it for day trips and vacations.

MP4 is the file type wrapper for XAVCS so your files appearing as MP4 on your PC is correct. I think it's like this to improve compatibility.

Metering mode is on camera settings then tab 3. It may be greyed out if your on auto or intelligent auto shoot mode. It should work if you change shoot mode. Thanks for checking out the channel!

I'm using Streamyard to actually record all my podcasts (not necessarily live stream) . I have the basic pro plan at $25/per month so can only record at 720p. Do you think having a good Sony DSLR with that Sigma 16mm lens or something else really good is even worth the investment if you can only shoot 720p as opposed to using using an iPhone as an upgraded webcam? At 720p, is the quality of a DSLR better enough over an iPhone to justify spending the money?

If this will be the only thing you use the camera for, a dedicated camera may be overkill. With a quality lens on a camera like the a5100, your 720p video will look very good and better than a phone. But I'm not sure the difference would be worth the cost.

When I use the self time on my 5100 it cut out all of the background gives me a small picture ! What do I do so my camera dont do that?

Have you checked the the plastic sliding write protector (on the left hand edge of the card) is in the 'unlocked' position? If it's not this you.may need to reformat your card.

I'm just using the onboard mic for this video, so if there is no major background noise then I think it's good enough.

Yes, as long as you use the USB cable that came with the camera.

Hi I also use the a5100 with a OnePlus phone. When you say it doesn't connect do you mean through the Imaging Edge App? I've found the connection can be a bit temperamental but usually works after a couple of tries.

@@ArronPrescott yes. I tried to connect the camera with the imaging edge application after i got the android 10 update. I tried the password way and also nfc. Nfc is not responding and password method was showing error message

Yes You'll need a memory card as the photos still need to be stored somewhere first before they can be sent to your phone.

Tip n°6: Set the Question Mark button to "AF/MF toggle" in Menu > Tab Custom Settings

Great camera, the only prob that I have is when I take portrait of people, I 've always noticed that the focus in their faces is not good, I am new to photography maybe I am not doing it the right way.

Make sure you're using continuous auto focus (AF-C) and you can half press the shutter button so follow the focus of your subject. Check you this video I made about focus modes if you need more info - kzread.info/dash/bejne/k6SFypuRd6SYidI.html

I tried to raise the volume in the settings. Its stuck at 15. When I try to turn it up it says its unavailable. Do you know why it's not letting me turn the volume up higher than 15 in the settings?

@@ArronPrescott at first it was in manual. I then put it in shutter and then I changed it to Movie. it's still set at 15 volume setting.
