Gameplay wise my favorite sonic game is Spark 3 lol

I don't enjoy MovementPlus base game, but here it's not only beautiful, but necessary imo.

This feels like one of those story mode levels that take place in red's mind

We have stage mods now?!? Truly, the dream game.

Honestly SEGA could make a peak Sonic game following this formula. Like just tricking and styling your way through a well designed level with some light combat sprinkled in, but as a mobility feature rather than purely focusing on killing enemies. Then you get Sonic Frontiers boss fights for that adrenaline rush. That would be so good.

Alternate title: Sonic Heroes levels if they had actual flow

this is actually what I was hoping there'd be more of in the base game. The dream-memory sections were close, but I feel like there's no sense of momentum after a while and some of the platforming is lacklustre. This style of gauntlet with multiple routes and a constantly building speed (supported by the constant slide pads) was what was missing imo.
