Sonhos Portuguese donuts, they are puffed up fried donuts, crispy on the outside, light and airy on the inside, dipped in sugar cane honey they are absolutely delicious.
These donuts are typically made at carnival time (February) here in Madeira they are called dreams, and they are eaten with lots of sugar cane honey, but if you don't like it you can also dip them in sugar and cinnamon
for this recipe you will need:
500ml of water
1 lemon zest
1 cinnamon stick
200g butter
400g flour
1 teaspoon salt
8 eggs if they are small 6 if they are medium
fry them in hot oil(sunflower oil), take care to control the heat of the oil.

Tip: Antes de colocar a massa na colher, passe a mesma pelo óleo quente, e assim evitará que a massa se peque à colher. Obrigada pela receita!

I use sunflower oil, be careful with the temperature of the oil so it doesn’t burn.
