Alexander should be interesting. He lives in the house, so hopefully no locked doors, and he has high strength, so no problem holding doors closed, but really low serenity... so you'll have to do it while your controller rumbles out of control! (A bit of good with the bad, might be fun.😊 ) This game is amazing. Thanks for the extra long play. Can't wait to see more, in hopefully a few weeks.

I genuinely appreciate the object physics (??) when they're being rotated - like with the dishcloth and the remote control. That must have taken ages to animate; props to the game developers!

A word to all future horror game characters: Once you get outside the haunted mansion/hospital/school/psychiatric ward, just keep walking... I love the detail in the game and the multi-POV angle. It's slow burn for sure, but the last scene definitely turned the threat from implied to very real. And your enthusiasm, Chris, adds to the fun. Looking forward to more.

How about don't enter haunted mansions?

Back in the first world war, a lot of german wives gave their gold wedding rings in exchange for iron ones to contribute to the war effort. The iron rings would be often inscribed with the words "Ich gab Gold für Eisen" which translates to "I gave gold for iron". Probably nothing to do with the game whatsoever but that's what the iron ring reminded me of. I'm absolutely loving this so far, you seriously put out some of the best damn content! Really looking forward to the next part!

Those who were involved in this act were only killing humanity, if govt were forcing them then they should know how to step-back instead of saying, no, you will get involved what other idiots were doing in that war, killing each other? For what? To rule something which is on earth? After death what will you take from earth? Nothing, so yes they were all idiots i have no sympathy and empathy for them.

It sort of ties into the old folks song suil a ruin about a woman pining for her love gone to war. She laments their distance and talks of selling every belonging she has to buy a sword of steel in the hopes he can return alive. Several versions of the song then go on to say how she wanders the world searching for him, presumably dead

Scratches is still probably one of my favorite games you've ever played.

@@saeosthavula9908 he find toilets in loads of the games he played and was disappointing that he couldn't use them, eventually someone made a game that the toilet worked and put his name in it, now he checks them all as for him its a sign of detail work.

His comment about the monsters thinking she may be listening in was hilarious lol 😂. I actually started visualizing monsters behind the door all Scooby style being sneaky because she was listening in at the door haha.

One of the best horror games of the last 10yrs. There is so much to admire here from the atmosphere, character set up, environments to the logical puzzles, innovative mechanics and voice work. The dynamic AI can throw some really effective jump scares at you, some of them very subtle that can easily be missed but freak you out if you notice them. Superb slow burn horror game.

I stan a fan of well-paced slow burn-type stories. Your enthusiasm is contagious, Chris; I find myself enjoying this just as much.

It's been a while for me to be really invested in any horror game and just after peeking part of this video I decided to give it a go. Song of Horror is surprisingly matured and polished, never disappoints me in any way, and reminds me of Silent Hill 4 but definitely surpasses it by how they choose to be an immersive experience without those awkward battle mechanics. I'm in the middle of playing episode 2, will be back to binge your playthrouhgs after finishing mine. Thank you Chris for playing this gem!

Ah no you went through all that with her and you go and open the one door that you heard something lol , maybe its best to always remember the sentance "curiousity killed the cat" . Lets hope someone gets the items or it changes for the next character . Great gameplay look forward to the next video

I appreciate that they still give you a glimpse of outside. The window and the view from the yard. It makes it all more believable and contrasting to what’s going on inside. I like Sophie, how unfortunate. Can you have two characters in the house at the same time I wonder?

This was so good! I was definitely hooked from the first few minutes, and didn't want you to stop either XD. The game looks amazing, and I love how it relies on atmosphere rather than jump scares. The fact that you can lose characters gives it an extra edge. Maybe the game will recommend which character to go with next? If not, storywise I think Etienne would make more sense.

This game is great and your let's play is entertaining as always! I love all the other horror references, especially the M.R. James/Abbot Thomas one.

This game is really good and I’m really enjoying watching it so far. Its attention to detail and replayability is quite impressive. From developing multiple characters/ backstorys, having a unique audio and listening mechanic, brilliant graphics, good atmosphere and tension, and having not only a map-but one that updates where you go. The storyline and notes are also really interesting. Having a good slower paced game is a refreshing change from all those short and cheap jump scared filled games nowadays. But overall I guess I’m just a sucker for a good haunted house adventure.

Chris, I can't wait for you to play this. Great graphics and suspense. Thank you for your great gameplay.

I've heard you mention this game quite a bit recently, so naturally I had to check it out. Great game so far.

The game looks amazing and I like how it's slow paced. Haha when u said the ghosts were being sneaky I was laughing so hard. CAN'T wait to see more of this game

Sophie is a strong woman. If I were her, I'd be holding that scented candle under my nose and huffing it as I walked around there. On the plus side, maybe the Evil would think, "That one's got some problems....." and leave me alone.

Please play the whole damn thing as soon as you can. (I'm too chicken to do so my self) This is awesome! Love the characters says "Hmm", "Ugh" and more, when trying to interact with things. Don't mind the slow burn at all.

Kindergarten 1+2 (not really horror, but tons of dark humor) Worse Than Death Yuppie Psycho Daymare 1998 (not particularly good, but very old-school) The Sexy Brutale (not horror, but great puzzle game) Observation (sci-fi dread from the makers of Stories Untold, and the best game I played this year) The Long Reach The Terrible Old Man (free, really short, and good for an "in between" upload) Hope you at least check these out 🙃 Keep on with the amazing videos!

I wasn't sure at first, but after watching up to 32:00 where you had Sophie listen to what may be on the other side of the door, I am certain I remember watching someone play a demo for this game about 2 or 3 years ago. You only played as Daniel in the demo, though. The game's come quite a long way since then. Also: That photo jumpscare... Damn!

Alexander would be interesting next! Loved this. Kept me on edge

Somehow, even if the game bugs you to listen thru doors, I felt that Sophie was meant to meet that fate. True, you can ignore the plea of help from the phone call. But at the back of your mind, you can still welcome the notion that at least one of the family members may have survived. Interesting game so far.

It's an odd thing to include but Haddock...I've heard about that fish recently while fishing on the Atlantic. (We caught 2 of them through the course of fishing for whiting and loligo squid.) Evidently the finger print looking spots on either side of it represent the fingerprints of Jesus at the sermon on the mount.

This game and your playthrough are great but is no one questioning why that wire poses a danger if the electricity isn't working? Or why she is still in the house after that door scene with all the hands?

Seems like if two people went missing at that house, Etienne should have called the fucking police to go take a look, instead of people drip-feeding themselves into the mansion.

I just watched part 1 and will start next ones but before i'd like to thank you for a really good playing! I don't know many letsplayers but i think you are one of the best! I'd absolutely love watching you play the whole game, when it's out. Did you ever played Alone In The Dark 2 (The New Nightmare)? This game reminds me a little bit of AITD2. It was the very first horror game I played, back than. The atmosphere, background music and the possibility of playing with different characters feels a bit like AITD2. 👍😃
