"I just saw something weird as fuck." This one line makes this game a lot more immersive. I don't know, it just feels so normal, like yeah, a real person would say that exact thing while recording a tape while they were spooked

I understand why people might've been disappointed with the ending, because of course we wanted to see him succeed. But I agree that the nature of these eldritch horror games often leaves very little for happy endings and I felt like the game earned it's ending, after all it makes it very clear that once a character hears the song they are actively losing time.

Lately I'd been remembering this game vividly, like all i remember is it's a horror game where light is kinda sorta important, one of the playable characters probably looks like Feng Min from DBD, and the playable character can be killed by other playable characters due to intertwining story part and misunderstanding / miscommunication. Thanks a lot for covering it

Thanks for covering this one, I didn't get to play it, but I'm mad, I'll explain. Me too. It’s realistic too, for a couple who loved each other but one fell into addiction in hard times. She HAD to end the marriage even if it hurt her to do so, but now that he’s been sober for a long time, I’m sure he’s acting like the man she fell in love with, so it’s much easier to have a friendship when he has beaten his addiction and has grown as a person. Even if it is impossible romantically anymore, it makes sense that they are still close friends after all they’ve been thru together! :) I appreciated this detail of the story as someone whose ex fiancee turned to drugs and is now recovered.

Just of the top of my head: The Shunned House, The Thing on the Doorstep, The Dunwich Horror, The Whisper in the Darkness, The Cats of Ulathar, The Case of Charles Dexter Ward, The Colour out of Space, The Terrible Old Man, At the Mountains of Madness, Pickman's Model, The Horror at Red Hook, and the whole Dream Cycle.

naming her ariadne is probably a reference to the greek myth. its not a 1 to 1, but ariadne was the one who gave theseus the twine so he'd be able to navagate the labrynthe, so having her be the one to hold the music box/es(which seem to be its main way to cross over to 'our' side, and get victims) is very clever! However, she could also be seen as the antithesis of her name, as she lures people into the Presence's labrynth, and then cuts them off from the 'our' side, making them stuck with it.

I quite liked this game. I had something interesting about it, and had this chain effect, whatever happened to the other character the other character will find out or will be affected.

I agree with you fully on the ending. Other than being a long time fan of all things eldritch and knowing how those stories typically end, I saw that last drawing from Ariadne and I just KNEW. I don't really know how anyone could see that and not instantly realize a panel like that labeled "this is something which MUST come to pass" meant doom. But I still didn't see that *personal* horror touch coming. I was awed. It made everything that much more poignant, and dreadful. I'm so sorry, Sophie. So sorry.

For me, its the best horror game. No necessary hide and seek or somewhat related to other horror games. Nice story too

This seems familiar with the lore of 40k when Fulgrim and Maraviglia performed Slaanesh song to the crowd making the people go crazy and well pretty much messed up happened.

I think it's funny you can play this game as characters that don't know anything about the story going on and are semi random 3rd parties.

Really wanted to love this game and get into it but alas I had the DL PS4 version and at one point had it glitch to where I couldn't get past a spot - it's been a few years so I don't fully remember where, I just remember researching and seeing it was an issue for other people and the team would not release a patch :-( The story from what I had gotten through was amazing, I just wish I could have enjoyed all of it.
