Just a passing thought, but maybe Alexander is reacting to all the broken mirrors strongly because there's a Russian superstition that a broken mirror means someone close to you will/has died.

I loved how this game didn't force us with a patrolling threat. It let us explore in peace and still gave us scares. It was exceptionally well designed I think. Awesome playthrough!

To be honest I couldn't decide if I should watch part 2 or not. It's mostly so I could see what happens next.

If Daniel is okay, someone's going to have to explain why his ex-wife is dead, and that she went looking for him. That says she still cared. Damn...

Sometimes people have to get away to save themselves. e: also Sophie was clearly doing better than her ex-husband (she had her own gallery, right?) so she likely wouldn't even be getting alimony.

@The Wolfman Smith So what of the health of the person married to or related to an addict? There is a huge difference between an uncle and a spouse, they are not comparable relationships. Staying with someone who refuses to try to improve themselves, while the sober partner does all the practical and emotional work, just ends up with shitty marriages (and often abusive ones). Also your "facts" about alimony are 100% false. The rate of men getting alimony is increasing. The only reason the number isn't even higher is because most men refuse to seek alimony even when they are eligible. Google it if you want.

To be fair if I had listened at that door and heard children whimpering I would of thought "Hey those kids sound like they're in trouble and are totally not possessed evil demon spawns waiting to murder me" I feel like there definitely might be more trick moments like that in this game. Makes it all the more fun!

I'm really loving all the little details in this game like how your character swings their arm behind them to shut a door; the door doesn't just automatically swing shut of its own accord. You can tell the devs put a lot of love & effort into the game. Plus, it's beautiful. I love the action camera angles as well.

This is probably the best classic kind of horror game I've seen in a long time. I think i'm gonna vote for Rene for the next part.

@lauren kane It's more the atmosphere that I like, that and i'm pretty tired of the mass of games that just seem copy Layers Of Fear's style of disjointed horror in recent years.

I'll say go with Miss T-Pose just in the hopes that she stays in T-Pose during the whole episode

I love just how paranoid this game makes you feel. There is always a constant feeling of danger but rarely does it show. You're left with this sense of dread when a character goes through a door or the camera moves. It's so well done! And Miss T-Pose should go next 😀

I say go with the cop. Also, I noticed something. Daniel's serenity seemed to go down some. Quite possibly due to his experience in the house and been trapped for three days. If that is the case, then that's really good attention to detail. ^^

I vote miss T-pose. For a Halloween video special of course we would want the scariest character! Plus all she has to do is spin around like a helicopter and it'll whoosh away all the darkness. She's definitely gonna be OP.

As a completionist i would revive her but at the same time i agree for one reason, if the game penalises the player for making a wrong decision then so be it. That's how the game was made.

To be fair, as a completionist, you would essentially want to play as long as you can with Daniel because you can go pretty far with him which Chris didn't do. OR as a completionist, try to complete the game each time with all characters as there are some interesting and exclusive things you can see with different characters as each visits the house in different times of the day which changes stuff in the game.

Great job, Sasha! Saving Daniel and managing to escape death...at least for now. 😈 Holy Mother of God, I love this game. 😊 Can't wait for Halloween! Cool that you mentioned about playing as a deaf character, Chris. I only know of one game, The Quiet Man, with a deaf or hard-of-hearing protagonist. It was panned by both the deaf and hearing communities because the devs came at it from a wonky perspective, and it had no captions, ambient sounds, or soundtrack. Also no ASL or BSL, etc. Game developers should really give creating deaf characters another try. 👍

While I love outdoor sports--hiking, riding, sailing, kayaking, etc.--which for the most part are done in the light, I've always really been a child of the night. I want life to be magical, and it can be, especially in the intimacy of night. And while I love joyful chaos, I love quiet and darkness and solitude more. Dream time when most people are safely inside. Time for those who prefer excitement and exploration to comfort and security. I'd like to see Daniel, since you didn't get to explore much before he went into the "elsewhere"

There's a gameplay mechanic here that I don't think I've ever seen before. With multiple characters possible for each section there's multiple gameplay paths. Every character approaches problem solving differently and they all have their own perspective and areas of interest, skill and expertise. It's extremely clever and provides real replayability. Alexander here is a scaredy cat. You want to be slow and stealthy with him to try and avoid those AI events that test serenity. They're triggered by running I think. On the other hand he's very strong so holding the door challenges are easier than with other characters. Not sure what triggers those though, if anything. This game is so innovative.

I'd say go with Erica/Miss T-Pose! Her dominance will keep those monsters at bay!

I didn't realise this either on the first playthrough but the figures that appear after you find the doll house key correspond to where you put the dolls when solving Saul's riddle of the doll house. Creepy. I still think this is one of the best horror games in 10yrs. The "slow burn" works brilliantly with the dynamic AI, all the characters are appealing and make sense and the puzzles are logical in context.

The fact that you can see characters that died really fucks with me, and I love it!

Amazing atmosphere and mechanics! I really enjoy this game :) Be honest Cju...you avoided the black water in the tub, but if it was a toilet you would not resist in check it out right? For the next episode I want to say Daniel...but Miss T-Pose is a very good offer too lol Stay good Cju! :)

Since destroying the dark doll seemed to banish the Presence, I wonder if you could've safely entered Saul's room after.

Alexander is my favorite character. And it’s sweet that he sometimes says “yes” in Russian [da] while picking up things.

This game makes me remember ObsCure and Haunting Ground's best qualities. And Alone In The Dark of course! It's been so long since I've found a third person horror game! No more motion sickness!! (because first person POVs always triggers my motion sickness immediately.)

Good job on not reaching into the bathtub, saw some snippets of someone else playing and they did reach into the bathtub. Then they had to start with another character lol

My choice would be Danial CJU. As he is the only one which listens the song of horror all the time even when he was in hospital. it would be interesting to watch him in episode # 2

I think that we should all take a note from the book of Barry Wheeler, and cover ourselves with flashlights and christmas lights whenever we go explore a dark location.

Absolutely love this can't wait to see more! I'm torn between continuing as Daniel or Erica. I like when the character knows about their surroundings and has more insight as to what is going on but I also like that you are discovering it as Daniel is discovering it.

This definitely needs to continue, every time you say that the character's heart rate is going mad my heart accelerates to match lol

WOW this game is amazing loveing it so far .. But I vote for Rene The Cop i do believe

I’ve just got this for the ps 4 really enjoying it, i got to the bit where you had to collect the old bits of paper I managed to get them from the wooden figure in the dining room and study, but for some reason when I pushed the x button to get the old pieces of paper from the figures in the kitchen and master en-suite bathroom my character was not picking them up as anyone else had this problem.

This is an absolutely brilliant game. The atmosphere itself is excellent.

But the crow, so conjuring moment 😀

Well I was also making fun of Miss T-Pose when I saw her as well but damn she has the highest sanity out of everyone so far. That minigame is extremely easy with her and also that radio she carries to calm herself down, let's just say it doesn't decrease as a counter.
