You can tell that Ricky loves his fans and his band.....and they love him back!! I agree with another comment. If you close your eyes and listen, except for the thunderous sound of the crowd, you can't tell the difference between Ricky's live and recorded performances. Ricky is First Class quality. Ricky's music takes me back to the dance floors of the 80's and 90's. I never sat through his songs. Great times.

@@BettyeShelton-RickyVanShelton Thank you, have just sent a request, under my 'real' surname (Crawford). My name here is for my KZread channel, where I sing and use a different surname.
I heard this song on the radio the other night for what had to be the first time in 20 years. Hearing Ricky's songs not only reminds me of the good old school country, the way it used to be, the way it should be, but also of my dad... as Ricky was one of my dad's favorites. Dad raised me on country and he used to have all Ricky's albums. Well Dad passed away in 1998, and with him went so much of my life I'd known to then ,(I was only 18 then,). But when I hear songs like this, I'm right back with my dad, in his Chevy, and life is still yet to be explored with no tinges of sadness that have come to stain it irrevocably since. Ricky, thanks so much for all your music and I hope you're enjoying your well earned retirement. And Bettye, thanks so much for this channel that shares the gift of his voice with the world forever. I enjoy it. and I know Dad would too.

At the end of Statue of a Fool, when he stops playing and just grips his guitar while singing the last line... awesome memory!!

Thanks so very much for replying Bettye. This has made my day. I am speaking the truth when I say Ricky's voice is atounding, God given, similar to Elvis. And a real Christian gentleman during interviews. Also, he has had you by his side. Bless you both mightily in the Name of our Lord Jesus. I live in England UK and immediately got my 4 sisters online to listen. All in 60s or 70s now but young enough to appreciate a delightful artist. I too paint...a bit...still learning, had a few flying lessons in a Cessna in my 20s. And love alot of Country and Gospel music. May God grant you and your family many more happy years. @@BettyeShelton-RickyVanShelton Thank you so much for your kind invitation on Facebook Bettye. But I am not a subscriber. I had to delete myself because I was inundated with requests for Christian and Chiropractic help. I am retired and had moved on from Chiropractic to Neurology so could only give advice to general questions. But the requests flooded so there is a need out there and I wonder why help is not given. Eventually the backlog was so large that my son had to close things down. I've wondered how I could help without a deluge and I don't know how they obtained my name. A fluke perhaps. So sadly I have decided not to open Facebook again. You deserved this explanation after being so kind and patient. Sorry for the delay. After hearing more of Ricky Vans hits, I'm more persuaded than ever that a re release of his albums is in order. But his and your decision. He was grossly undervalued and the 'plugging' of records in Britain was very skewed. Jimmy Saville our main DJ was a culprit here and posthumously turned out to be a villain. I do wish both of you the very best for the future and I can tell you ,Ricky's recordings are available on youtube here daily. So I have alot of catching up to do. Much love and Grace . Thank him for using his wonderful voice when he did. XX

I do post comments when I've listened to more of his recordings and they are sincere comments from the heart. I told my sisters to teach grandchildren to turn their 'tears into a song'. As it's so easy to carry a burden through your life. I feel this is what 'Country' does to an extent. Opens up the heart. Hearing these heartaches being universal frees you to turn things right round. Thank you again from a very grateful listener. Anne. X
