People like Ricky kept real country music alive. I knew his mama and daddy good enough to know he’d never sing the junk they’re playing on the radio nowadays. Ricky should still be recording, the best singers are far to underrated.

Seen him in concert in the 80s was very good. Love that song Statue Of A Fool.

I have loved Ricky's music for over 20 years and saw him in concert in 92 with Doug Stone on tour. His voice is one of our finist in country music history. I'm so happy he's here with us and living a good happy life with his soul mate. They are so cute together! I love old cars and old signs just like Ricky. I don't believe I've ever been to a thrift store or antique store where I did not walk out with an old Coke sign lol

Ricky and Bettye, you seem like just good country folks and I love the farm. My good friend lives in Nashville and we love visiting them, and my brother who lives in Lexington. Big classic country fan, and have listened to you for years. I wanted to tell you that your music lives in the hearts of many, old and young. I am a 59 year old retired law enforcement officer that sings classic country and your songs at senior centers/assisted living in the Dallas area. The residents love it as well as the employees and visitors. Today I sang and several of your songs, and the young employees also loved it. I never got to see you perform, but that’s okay, I get to sing your songs and bring joy to others. Good to see y’all are just good people. So, thank you. Headed back to visit friends in Nashville soon, really enjoy the town and the music. Bettye please keep posting. Happy you are enjoying life off the road.

I have an unfulfilled dream that most likely will never happen. People thought I was weird, but I have said for many years when asked about my dream vacation that I would love to spend one weekend with Ricky Van Shelton. Just relax, sit by a fire pit and be in the presence of that effortless voice. He's the only famous person I ever wanted to get to know. But, I have become a 60 yr old father of 4, grandfather of 5 and have way more yesterdays than tomorrows and life happens. Long way of saying I have truly enjoyed experiencing his God given talent and hope he is happy every moment of his life.😎

So refreshing to see Bettye and Ricky still together after all these years. I really enjoyed watching this. I am a lot like Ricky. I collect vintage signs (most lost in a fire in 2000) but have always loved filling the home with things that remind me of better more simple days. My dream car is a 1957 Bell Air Chevy. Have dreamed of having one since I was 10 years old.

I loved his music for years.And to this day i still listen to his music.My grandma was huge fan and turned me in to a ricky fan.Miss your music Ricky!!

Ricky van shelton is still one of the greatest singers of at least my generation! Being I was raised on country an bluegrass music. My grandma passed away here a few months ago but she was a tremendous Ricky van Shelton fan!!! And so am I!!!

That was fun, seeing Ricky & Bettye at home. Glad to see you both so happy. I've always enjoyed Ricky's music. Of course his fans still miss him. God Bless.

Love Ricky's singing. Always have. One of the best voice's Country Music ever had. Love Statue of a Fool, and A Bridge I didn't burn by him. His Farm is lovely. Wish I could have seen him in concert, before he stopped touring. Glad he is enjoying his retirement. I grew up with Country/Western Music, via my late Father. He was a pioneer in early C/W Music on radio, for many years in Virginia. Was a musical prodigy. Played about 6-8 instruments, all self-taught, and an excellent singer too. Country Music was just a natural part of my life, always have loved it.

No wonder Ricky retired you live in lovely place but would still love to hear him singing again as nobody sing s country songs like he does. But glad you are both living happily in your retirement xx

To me Ricky's talent was up there with Elvis. He is truly an amazing man with a beautiful voice. This is real Country Music. My friend and I attended every show of Ricky's we could get to. Sadly she is no longer here so every time I listen to my RVS cd collection I remember the good times we had. Luv u Ricky.

I have to agree with the other comments that Ricky is truly missed in Country Music. He had/has the best voice in country music. My mamma passed 2 years ago and Ricky was her favorite singer. I remember standing in Ricky's line at Fan Fare, quite a number of years ago, to get his autograph on a T-shirt for her. I stood outside in the line and got really sunburned. But when I brought the T-shirt home to Mamma she was so happy that it made it all worthwhile. Making it in country music is tough, but Ricky brought much happiness to many people...more than he will ever know. I know he has many fans who will NEVER forget him!

I grew up listening to Mr. Shelton. I’m glad I got to see him live right before he retired in Bakersfield at the Crystal Palace. One of my favorite musicians, Tigar Bell, was with him in the band.

I grew up in Sri Lanka listening to country music. Studied in England got a figure in nursing. On my days off listened to country music only although am a qualified classical music teacher. Country music is my love You both have to write more country songs and make a cd for the fans.

Ricky is a pack-rat like me LOL My late friend "Steve Lee" use to play and sing a lot of Ricky Van Shelton Music. And Steve had great vocals like Ricky too. Ricky Van Shelton was Steve Lee's favorite singer. I have in my office at home of what I call my wall of stars. Autographed photos of greats like Bill Anderson, Loretta Lynn, Garth Brooks, Rhonda Vincent, Drew Baldridge and some new comers like Jenny Tolman, Teea Goans, and even a few stars from Australia like Shea Fisher, Rebecca Lee Nye and Natalie Howard and a few others. Had my cd in today sitting on the back porch listening to Ricky. My chickens in the back yard looked like they were dancing to the music

Bettye, this is so cool & I get to see a video of you instead of still pictures. I got a laugh out of his player on the floor-hey put a set of drawers under it to raise it. I accidentally ran across this. I say a prayer for you and Ricky every day. I think I forgot to tell you to have Ricky swim every day in salt water to slow the progression. I have rigged up seat belts in a long horse tank that really works the best - I learned that at the Mayo Medical School back in the late 1980's and it really works. Ricky made a lot of friends so easily, so there are a lot of people who would come running if you ever need help. I think Ricky's greatest accomplishment was that he made a friend of everybody who ever met him, because as you know Ricky is so sweet to everyone. God Bless you both! Mickey

No one else like RVS.I drove about an hour and a half from my house to see him.I don't remember him playing Cincinnati, Ohio all that much.I only got to see him that one time.Wish that I could have seen him more.I met Bettye at a book signing in Evendale,Ohio.I think it was 1993?Andy Landis was with her.I remember telling Bettye that Ricky &Dwight Yoakam were my two favorite male Country artists.Would love to sit down &drink some sweet tea &hear some stories.

As an added PostScript; my Husband also loves old cars, had I known that Ricky liked old cars, I would have tried to get in touch with you before we sold the 1984 Ford F-150 that we had, (it was owned at one time by one of our local Fire Departments.) My favorite all time singer!( second to Tom T. Hall) I could listen to him every hour of every day! I have about 6 of his cassettes and play them often! My most favorite song he sang, "Life's Little Ups and Downs"! That song fit me and Harry to a T!!!

I remember seeing Ricky sing on a show and he sat in the floor, pulled his boots off, and sang his heart out! Vestal Goodman was sitting there and I think he pulled hos boots off because Vestal took her shoes off on occasion. If I'm not mistaken, Ricky sand a song that went straight to my heart! "Don't Send Me No Angels," ("cause, I got one of my own- I may have missed a word or so in that but, I can hear him singing it in my head! (No, I'm not a loose nut) The way he sings a song, the way he makes a person feel the song. THAT's why he's such a great singer! My sister and her husband's song was "From A Jack To A King". It just thrilled me to know you actually read what people write! That makes you (BOTH) very special!!!

I am in the process of painting my bathroom, and, having RVS ok the computer singing his heart out, I am painting, and, getting more on me than the walls, but, that's fine! You ought to see me when I'm working in the yard! Talk about a ragamuffin! LOL!! Harry (my husband( passed away almost 2 years ago, and, I miss him dearly. I know he would get a kick out of me painting anything but rocks! I think in the 20 years I had with him, we had one loud discussion! No knockdown drag-outs. He was so easy to cook for. When I told him that once, he remarked, "Of course I eat anything you cook! If I complained, you'd make me cook it!" He was a fantastic cook! His last few years were spent in a wheel chair, after falling and breaking his left hip. I didn't mind taking care of him! He was my other half! When I slow down from helping my sister, I am going to transfer all the RVS CD's on to cassettes. I have a cassette player in the van, so, I will be able to listen while I drive! Take care!

RVS. Not one of the greatest there has ever been, but the greatest. I'm 80 years old and still love anything he sings and love to listen to him still. He is the greatest of all times God bless You Ricky and your wife Bettye. I even have Ricky's Quacker books. Their great.

Thank you Bettye! I realize how hard it must be to be in the music business and the toll it must take on your personal life. It has to be extremely stressful to satisfy everyone. My wife has 2 cousins in the music business..Shelby Lynne (Moorer) and Allison Moorer. Shelby started in 1988 and Allison several years later. They are still at it but I know what a difficult and stressful career it has been for them. As long as you two are happy is all that matters!

Shelton released his debut album Wild-Eyed Dream in 1987. I loved this tour of your home. I, too like antiques, well just old furniture that tells a story. Enjoy the good life, Ricky and Bettye! I'm a Virginia gal, too. I saw you when you flew your plane to a show near my hometown. Do you still fly?
