I couldn't even tell you who is who in today's pop country, Nashville . I have no interest in any of them.
One of the best country music artists. Miss him. When we lose George Strait and Alan Jackson there will not be much good music left!
I met Ricky Van Shelton in 1986. I had just moved to Universal City, Texas to work at Randolph AFB (North San Antonio) in March 1986, so it was sometime shortly after March. Ricky was at a K-Mart store for meet and greet, or let's say more like out for promotional purposes. At that time, he was literally new and barely starting out and not really known at the time. Ricky was a genuinely nice man. Too bad the music industry destroyed him for no good reason. He has that perfect country singing voice and I just love his music.
What a gorgeous voice, filled with emotion, singing a REAL country song, and you can understand the lyrics. Just beautiful.

It doesn’t matter what year, month, week or day, this is always the best song I’ve ever listened to.

I wish we still had real country music like this on the radio. This noise pollution they play today can’t hold a candle to legendary country singer like RVS.

Did any of you 4Ricky Van Shelton Fans know he wrote 2 children's books..I just bought them ...Google books by rvs...he is doing different things..I think he even painted... look him up..ask that he is doing now.....love love love this man...I use to come home from work late and walk with his cds ..trying to let him destress my day...only went to one concrete in Maryland..loved it.....
