    Winning in this format is great for Stan. In a classic snooker match he seems to get too much in his head by all the options he sees and takes a lot of time to make his mind up - not trusting his natural ability. Here he has to rely exactly on natural ability and I'm sure that him winning like that helps him a lot to trust himself. Edit: and that's beneficial to both him and those watching him play a classic snooker match.

    This format of the game really benefits Stan Moody: my only criticism of him is that he does take quite a long time to play his shots, so this does him good I reckon.

    I think at the moment it doesn't know what it is if that makes sense, the crowd want to get involved but they don't really know how to or what to shout. Murphy 147 started to get a bit of a buzz but I agree it feels a bit off. I think the long term goal as a marketer imo is to make Shoot out like the darts, get fans a bit lubricated and make it loud and chaotic within limit. I think this will take a few years though to build a culture around this as ultimately right now the viewers are still the traditional snooker viewer hence the crowd confusion on how to react imo. But my dream a 7 or 8 round shoot out tour bit like Darts Prem or players champs and make it a proper party atmosphere and I think the players do want it as Murphy 147 he was clearly buzzing off it, and the ones that don't want to don't have to play

  • @alastairwood7277

    @alastairwood7277

    Equally I think if done well you could unlock far larger venues that aren't let's say traditionally associated with snooker and take capacities from 2-3k to your 7-8k arenas and add in the atmosphere you can massively grow the game. I love the sport but being 21 myself I see a huge hole in a new generation watching and this could be the solution to create a buy in and it doesn't detract from the 'real game' per say its a complimentary side piece

    Comparisons to Ronnie are unfair to any young player. O'Sullivan is a once in several generations kind of player and arguably the best to pick up a snooker cue in history. Furthermore, across all sports, players develop at different rates. 17 year olds getting to major snooker tournaments is actually relatively rare. So Moody shouldn't be overhyped, but equally shouldn't be lambasted for not being Ronnie O'Sullivan at 17 years old!
