Awesome little hunt. I'm a streaky shooter as well. I once shot a box of shells with 1 dove to show for it, killed my next 11 with 11 shots. Missed once but killed 2 with one shot. I wouldn't call you streaky though, you're usually pretty proficient.

Great video as always. Don't knock yourself to hard on the shooting sometimes you're just on and other times you're just off. Somehow I whiffed 3 shots on a goose at like 10 yards one day then stoned a greenhead on the wing at 35 -40 yards a few days later.

Hey man what a hunt! I'm in Eastern Oklahoma trying to finish out my duck season hunting with a buddy and we are struggling.... I'm here for 5 days and we've shot 2 drake mallards. Birds are stale and super skittish. Always fun being out but wish we could put one hunt together like this one before the end of season and I have to drive back to Northern Minnesota.

Thanks! Try to hunt is lower traffic times like weekdays and afternoons. Also hunt weather that gets birds out of their pattern (snow, high wind, etc). Try to distance yourself from other people and have an immaculate hide. Also, try whistles or silence when others are calling frequently.

Great videos and you have some terrific spots to hunt and not much better than Greenheads. Still not sure why you or anybody uses a 28 or even a 20 on waterfowl. I can see it on quail as it swings quicker

Thanks! I don't need a 12 gauge for ducks. I find I shoot better with a 28 gauge. Easy to swing, easy to get on target, and quieter.

When I started duck hunting we could use Is lead I used a 20 gauge loved ithe right when I switch to a 12 gauge they change the law and start a mandatory and using Steel shot Honor for 5 more years couldn't find anything comparable to lead quit hunting then they started making business then all the other stuff tungsten Got back into it Cost so much to hunt now don't do it nowhere near like I used to

@@HighPrairieSportsmen so. What are your thoughts on that tri star? Why did you go to a Benelli? Just looking for some real feed back on a tri star is all. I had a 20ga years ago, it failed me on a couple hunts. It made me so mad! It is still, as far as I know...at the bottom of Elwood resivor.

@@troyrussell4733 my Tristar would jam up quite a bit after a year of using it. Has a bur that cuts into the shells. I went with the Benelli because I wanted something that would not jam up consistently. After hundreds of rounds through my Ethos, I think I've had only one or two jams/misfires. Don't think I'll touch another Tristar.

Why don't you stand up before you shoot? If you're going to shoot sitting, why not use a bucket with a swivel seat? Did you use a drone to find the hole in that huge marsh, or just wander around on the ice 'till you find something?

I stood up to shoot each time. Don't have room to haul a bucket seat in. Had to spend a day scouting on the ground to find it.

@High Prairie Sportsmen 3 and a half shell hard to come by in Illinois about 40 dollars for number 2' have to get them with feet down would love to hunt were you actually have some ducks. Our season go out today duck got here Saturday safe hunting
