The BEST Mallard Hunt of My Life | Public Land Duck Hunting 2019
Ойын-сауық
This was the hunt of a lifetime. Mallards were dropping in shortly after putting decoys out and didn't stop. Duck hunting doesn't get any better.

Awesome hunt. Looks like you guys found the X. My dad and I had the X last year too. Over 150 mallards landing in a pond that you could throw a rock across. We hammered them. We would be setting up decoys and they didn't care, still kept landing. The honey hole isn't paying off this year tho.. don't know where the birds are

Gotcha. Well your channel is my favorite hunting channel. It’s real and it’s heart-felt. My sons and I have been goose hunting on Eastern Shore Maryland since they were toting BB guns :) Memories for a lifetime. We still hunt hard out here but we’ve fallen on hard times with regards to numbers. Read recently that DNR is going to one 30-day contiguous season (no spilt as has been typical) and a one-bird limit. I remember the “moratorium” days, so I shouldn’t grumble too much... but dang. Makes me sad. Otherwise I’d invite y’all to Maryland next season! But I have a feeling it will be slim pickings again in 2019-2020 :(

Alright boys, hunting is awesome but I really like mallards. So please tell me they taste good. (I just like the way they look. I am sure y'all wouldnt hunt them if there werent enough to go around.) Also do you get more ducks because the others can't tell their buddy's are getting shot through the fog? Or do they just repeatedly get tricked by the duck calls everytime even though some saw their buddys die? Y'all are great shots.
@HighPrairieSportsmen
3 жыл бұрын
Mallards taste really good. Ducks come into the decoys because they resemble real ducks. Calling can help work them in. Some days they don't work. Others they come in like on this day. Shooting will spook them off but usually enough time passes between shots they dont really notice where it's coming from. Duck populations (and all other wild game) are managed by state and federal agencies to assure no harm is done to the populations and also raise funds for conservation of all wildlife species.

Try patterning your gun. Also, try shooting clays with steel. Other than that, it's just a bunch of practice.

High Prairie Sportsmen I’ve been shooting clays with steel the day before I went today but when it comes to the ducks I just can’t seem to hit them
@bobcrone6151
5 жыл бұрын
When you shoot clays, do you shoot them from behind (clays going away)? If so, maybe try to safely set it up so that you’re shooting from various oblique angles to simulate passing shots. I think the amount of lead that you have to employ is surprising to new comers to waterfowl (lead being the distance you have to shoot in front of the duck to account for his ground speed)... just a thought.
