Finally a true duck hunting video with a young man that truly understands duck hunting ! Great video

Out of the 26 years that I've been hunting(35 now), I was blessed with a hunt similar to yours. Although, I wish someone had been able to experience it with me, witnessing such a moment in all of its glory was one of the greatest personal experiences I've ever had. Of course we have to give thanks for the blessings we've had but like you said, we must be especially grateful for those that exposed us and taught us about hunting.

Those kind of moments are always special. At 27, I’ve had two moments so far that stand out to me as ones I’ll never forget. The first was my buddy and I on a spike elk hunt in utah where we got into a herd and bulls were bugling around us and we called them in close and both of us were able to drop spikes within 10 minutes on that opening morning. The second was our deer hunt this year. A snowstorm came in opening morning and lingered for 2 days and we didn’t see a single buck. Then Monday morning, with the storm lifted, my dad, my brother, my uncle, and I were hiking down a pristine snow covered ridge just before light and a pack of coyotes was yipping and barking with each other about 500 or 600 yards away. Then a little further down the ridge we spotted a group of bucks and my brother and I were able to drop one for each of us. Just perfect, being with people you love, in beautiful country, and seeing these amazing animals. It doesn’t get any better. And then eating that bountiful meat with family on a Sunday afternoon is icing on the cake.

Wow... Those are the hunts you never forget! That many birds all over you, landing in the decoys... Gets your heart really pumping! Don't need a gun to enjoy THAT! I don't know if I could have shot at those big groups either... You just don't want to ruin the moment

I had a similar afternoon hunt about 5 years ago. Got to my lease about 2:30 and within 15 minutes of getting in the blind the mallards started flying. At one point I must have had 300 mallards circling. Lucked out and they went on and started coming back in small groups. In an hour I had 3 green heads and a hen (pair that came in and drake got in the stubble and hen was back pedaling...could not resist and shot her and then turned and shot the drake on 2nd shot as it got up). Finished the night off with a drake spoonie (was looking for a mount worthy one). Best mallard hunt I ever had. Enjoyed the show when surrounded and then did my shooting on the small groups. Awesome, I would love to see that many birds at all. In Ohio you can hunt for 1 hour in the morning then you don’t see ducks the rest of the day. Definitely not that many either.

So weird. I see ducks landing on the ice more often than not. And In the same situations geese mainly landing in the water

In Australia i try to kill my limit asap so I can either go fishing or drink beer asap its always nice to be in nature but take the easy shots and then go enjoy nature with a rod and a beer in hand
