I had a 1999 STS and it was the BEST car I ever owned. Drove it to 130,000 miles and never had any real problems with it, just maintenance issues. No issues with the Northstar engine. Wish I still had it; would trade my 2011 STS for it.

That is beautiful! Great price as well. A friend of mine also had a 2000 Seville STS in Crimson Red Pearl that had 22,000 miles on it. It was near perfect just like this blue one. He sold that car earlier this year and got $12,000 and is in a private collection. We're in a car club that has several other Cadillac's and so many other brands. The perfect model with all the best options, features and everything. My dad drives a black 2001 Seville STS and my grandmother has a 1994 Seville SLS. I'm glad that there's a few nice, showroom examples still hidding around. There's no question this went to the right new home! A lot of these have been shipped over seas over to Europe.

I bought my 96 STS in 99 with 36k i now have 128k never had a head gasket issue. You have to be on top of the Maint on these vehicles . Especially flushing the coolant out, i do it every 2yr or 24k which ever comes first. Also put stop leak additive in the coolant. If you’re interested in buying a Cadillac with the Northstar engine take it to a shop, put it on a hoist look underneath it. If it’s wet don’t buy it, because it wasn’t taken care of.

Every single car I've seen you show on here is something that I'd buy or something that I've already owned, to include a Caddy Seville STS (had a 99' Sterling Silver example) that I've sold to my best friend. I really wanted a 03 or late 02 ^^^ with the Magnetic Ride Control (F55 PKG). I've had 3 Northstar Caddys all with high mileage (my first 11' DTS got totalled and had 224K and never overheated or did anything stupid and I drove it Daily). Excellent example here and such a lovely combination! I'll keep my eyes open for another one, hopefully a 03' Crimson Pearl or White Diamond Pearl in my budget

When I lived in Denver my mother & I were at Ed Bozarth Chevy in Aurora CO when we saw a’98 Seville STS it was a metallic gray with the shale leather interior it was a powerhouse of a car with the 300 hp Northstar engine she bought it & we enjoyed it I know I did especially when one night I borrowed it to go pay a storage unit bill then proceeded to I-70 heading east and with no cops went 100 mph with ease. It wasn’t until years later I told her what I did and she just laughed. The downside of the car was having to take it to Rickenbaugh Cadillac for several repairs, the mechanic knew us every time we came in, it ended up being traded in for a 2000 Cartier Town Car which sadly got totaled but that’s another story

I owned one exactly like this except in Black Raven. Best of luck to whoever purchased it. They are gorgeous but about the best thing you can do is keep it in the garage as an emotional support instrument. Look at it and sit in it when you need your "happy place". But if you plan on driving it good luck with the maintenance. The Northstar notoriously uses about 1 qt between oil changes and requires a lot more TLC than other cars. Every repair, even regular maintenance costs at least 3x as much as any other car and back then you could only take it to a certified Caddie technician for service. BTW, Anthony, that is NOT real wood trim. Plastic faux wood all the way.

The wood in this car is NOT plastic faux wood... The 1992-2004 Seville's, 1992-2002 Eldorado's, and 1997-2005 Deville's have genuine Zebrano wood inlays.

My moms last car is a black/grey interior 2001 STS. Dad keeps it as his spare car & lets the grandkids drive it when they fly in to visit. I took it & buffed it out like new. Low milage beautiful car but nearly worthless b/c of the Northstar reputation. Thanks GM

I love your channel. But, there's nothing you can do or say about the Northstar engine design flaw. The bolt design problem is a reality. Not related to maintenance or anything else. They fall. Otherwise, great car.

Cadillac seems ot have a history of troublesome engines going all the way back to the V16s of 1930. You'd think GM's flagship brand would do better.

Cadillac's only fail when not properly maintained. When they are properly maintained and especially the cooling system, they are trouble free and that goes for any year or model Cadillac. It does not matter what year. Proper maintenance is everything.

@@1940limited I do not know what happened in regards to owners being made aware of correct maintenance. The manufacturer knows what to do but the dealers do not always carry out what should be implemented which is still a problem to this day. The maintenance has always been a thing with GM and Cadillac's even going way back to the 1950s when different coolants and additives first started coming out. Most people do not realize this. Correct the HT4100 are very underpowered. The 4.5L that came right after saw a very small bump in power but not where they should have been. The 4.9L is when power was increased again; the Northstar V8 is when Cadillac's were able to compete with all the advanced engines of its time. There are still lots of 4100 powered Cadillac's around in good condition. I happen to have one that needs replaced and that car is going to be getting an engine swap to a Northstar V8.

@@starxlr7863 In my mind the flagship marque of GM should do better with its engines. Cadillac has a history of engine problems going all the way back to the V16s of 1930. The 425s of the late 70s were good engines. They should have kept them. I know a guy who had an 85 Fleetwood Brougham Coupe. He blew the 4100 at 156,000 miles, broken crankshaft. Then went to a junkyard, got another one, and put it in the car. Talk about ambition! :-) Last I saw him he was driving a ratty 87 FB.

It's a shame these late 90s early 2000s Cadillacs were so beautifully designed. The Seville and Eldorado specifically were amazing designs - the sad part is the Northstar. Such a headache.

I go 90 miles an hour on highway because that is what governer holds me at. Lol 300 horsepower was the most for frontwheel drive car in the day. Proper mantinence is 🔑. The northstar haters will never see the light.
