SODARSHAN CHAKRA KRIYA (Kundalini Yoga meditation)

On this channel a you can find Kundalini Yoga meditations and coaching videos. My name is Jasper Jansen (or Dharam Inder Singh), I am a Kundalni Yoga teacher, Kundalini Yoga Coach and Physical therapist.
This week we do one of the greatest meditations you can practice: Sodarshan Chakra Kriya. It has considerable transformational powers. The personal Identity is rebuilt, giving the individual a new perspective on the Self. It can purify your past karma and the subconscious impulses that may block you from fullfilling You.
Time: 11 minutes maximum 2,5 hours (new with kundalini yoga? start with 5 minutes).
Music: Wahe Guru for Sodarshan Chakra kriya, Gurucharan S. Khalsa.

    I returned to Sodarshan lately. Your vid came up on my feed as I was looking at diff vids and introductions to this meditation. I noticed an error in many. When we pump the navel 3 times on wha,hey and guru we do so as per the way it's thought by YB. Pull the navel one third on wah, pull furthur to 2 third on hey, and finish by pulling the navel from 2 third to fully on guru. Releasing and returning for next round. Please find instructions in 3HO website. As someone who practiced and instructed others incorrectly........this changes it immensely.

    Beginners Sodarshan Chakra Kriya: Modify kriya as follows: Do only 1 pump for each chant of Wahay Guru. So in total with your breath held in you will do 16 pumps per cycle. Also, reduce the force of the pump to where you are comfortable. Start with 3 minutes and build up to 11 minutes. The kriya should be practiced daily. Intermeditates Sodarshan Chakra Kriya: Modify kriya as follows: Do only 2 pumps for each chant of Wahay Guru. One for Wahay and one for Guru. So in total you will do 32 pumps with your breath held in per cycle. Pump your stomach with a moderate force. You should try to do 11 minutes, then go to 22 minutes and then to 31 minutes daily. Advanced Sodarshan Chakra Kriya: Do the kriya as described above in the description section. You should be pumping your stomach with full force and you should do 31 minutes daily. The commitment should be to do 40 days without missing a day, 31 minutes each day. This was exactly the requirement by Ravi for his Kundalini Yoga teacher’s training course as well. If you miss a day, you go back to 1 and start over till you complete 40 days. Perfected Sodarshan Chakra Kriya: Yes there is more, you are not done yet :-D. To do the perfect and complete kriya and thus extract the maximum benefit and reach super human caliber, the requirement is to do 62 minutes per day and build it up to 2 1/2 hours everyday. If you can discipline yourself to do that, the kriya will provide everything needed in all areas of your life.

    Sat Nam Jasper! Thank you so much for a wonderful explanation of the meditation! I am now on my day 35 and feel kind of depressed in the last 2 weeks, so I am asking myself if I can distinguish the effects of the Kriya from the effects of my life (I received a bad news last week), because in general I could not see clearly if sth has changed inside of me in the last 2 months of the Kriya

    Sat Naam Maria, I am sorry to hear you had bad news last week. I hope things work out for you. Yes it can be challenging sometimes to see what a meditation does for you. Sometimes the absence of it makes it more clear. Meditation does not stop you from feeling hardship, but it helps you cope better so the energy does not get stuck. If you feel down maybe it is helpful to sit in silence and feel your emotions without trying to change them. Just let them be, they are important messengers and need to be acknowledged. Meditation helps you be more neutral and accepting of life’s challenges. I hope it helps! Take care.

    Please help me understand "pump the stomach." You are the third instructor to use this phrase, and it is very imprecise. Am I to contract my abs? What exactly is the motion? Is each of the three motions the same? Are there different intensities from the first to the third? Do I start at the top with the first and work down my abs to the third? Does the diaphragm play a role? I hope you can clarify this for me and others. Thanks in advance.

  • @jasper_now

    @jasper_now

    2 жыл бұрын

    You indeed pull in your abs. Every pump has the same power and intensity. So the motions are the same. The diafragm is part of it during the inhale. During the pumping in almost stays in the same position.
