So sorry. My Mum passed from cancer at the end of February. I know exactly how you feel. I was alone with my Mum when she passed and I had a sudden knowledge that she was met by her parents and taken to the next life. Our parents will be there to pick us up when we pass, I know as I witnessed it. I find it a great comfort, hope you do too. God bless.

My sincere condolences, and thank you for the message, which I agree with 100%. My own mom passed away from cancer in 2020, only 4 months after diagnosis, and since then I have tried to be more open to my loved ones, and contact them more often. But a reminder is important. I'd add to your message, that in my experience everybody who has ever lost someone has regrets like 'I should have done/said more', even if they shaped their whole life around caring for that person, and everybody else asmires them for it. None of us are perfect, noone acts the perfect way every time, and it's OK to forgive ourselves for that.

My grandfather apparently targeted my wedding (the first of his grandchildren's weddings that was in a church, or for that matter successful) as something he was going to make it to, and had a very good time, then decided that he was tired. Died the night we came back from the honeymoon.

Be careful what you wish for. The last 3-5 years of my Mom's life (she passed at 96), she no longer recognized who I was, even though I was her caretaker for the previous 10 years. She no longer believed she lived where she lived, even though she had lived there for 50 years. She thought someone was coming for her, even though she didn't know who or when, and constantly tried to leave the house to meet this person. It was a nightmare, and I still suffer some PTSD even though she died two years ago. "Longer" is not always better...

I think that you being there communicated “I love you” as much as words ever could. So sorry for your loss, man.

I was holding her hand and reading Psalm 23 to her when she passed. My family is praying for yours. They are in a better place. 🙏

I watched my mom say good-bye to both of her parents last year. In both cases, all their kids were able to make it home in time. With my Nan, we really felt she waited for her youngest to get home before she passed.

Fuck cancer. This video really hit home with me. I also lost my mother to cancer on the 9th of September of 2019 at around 9am. I wish I could say the grief gets easier, but it really doesn't. It never will. You will just learn to live with it. I cried while listening to this and saw myself in your eyes when describing your mother's final moments. We always wish we could have gotten more time with our loved one that passed away, but... let's be honest, we never get enough time with them. All we are left with are the memories we have of them. Stay strong and may your beautiful mom rest in peace.

Same here as well. I lost my eldest brother to stage 4 brain cancer only 2 and a half years ago. I will never stop thinking about it. What is going on? So many cases of turbo cancer now. 3 people I knew personally that have lost their lives to cancer in the last few years. All I can say is love and cherish your friends and family. Family is everything, without family you have nothing.
