Welcome to Draw Tip Tuesday!
In today's video, I will flip through the pages of my latest sketchbook. It contains urban sketches, workshop demo drawings, personal moments, and experiments with all sorts of art tools.
My sketchbook is my happy place, and I hope that this sketchbook tour inspires you to draw every day, like I do. If you draw daily, the "pressure" is off, because there's always the next page, the next day. It's important to learn to be less precious about your pages.
We make up this ridiculous rule for ourselves that every drawing that we make should be very good - perfect even! While, in the end we are drawing because we love the process, don't we?

Hahnemühle Nostalgie Sketchbook, Size A4, which is 21cm x 29.7cm, or 8.3' ' x 11.7''
The pen that I mention in the end is the Pilot Parallel pen.
It's a calligraphy pen with a unique nib design. Unlike traditional calligraphy pens that have a single nib, the Parallel Pen has two parallel plates with a small gap in between. This gap allows ink to flow through and you can create lines of varying thickness by holding it at different angles. I am liking the organic and expressive lines you can achieve with it and I will keep practicing with it.

I'm so sorry to have missed you on this side of the pond! But I was on the other side filling a sketchbook.. Looks like it was a fabulous workshop!
How fun to see you draw some rural scenes. I live in the state just south of Minnesota and tested positive for Covid this morning. For the first time. 😢 It's been miserable. Hope you're feeling better by now.

I never tire of seeing your sketchbooks!
We're always impressed with your sketchbooks, but it always amazes us how well the drawings come out when you make them with sticks and improvised tools! That's something every artist needs to try!

@@KoosjeKoene Mother Nature is flooding the market with free samples right now, but we can still sell paintbrushes, which people sometimes turn into sticks by forgetting to wash them...

They are part,of an alphabet stamp set.
I bought your book in early August, and I have been drawing almost every day since. Such an inspiring book, and I am already noticing that I am becoming more relaxed drawing out and about!

Can I ask what crayons you used I just bought some watercolour type and some oil crayons wondering which I can use over watercolours.

The watercolor type can go perfectly on watercolor. The oil, I don’t know, I never tried.

I have a small tin of the caran d ache crayons I’ve not used them yet so I had better try them out, also bought another brand of watercolour crayons from local art shop so I have a selection just need to get time to play with them. Thanks for answering my question, I love what you do and it’s been great inspiration to me. Xx
