Here’s an interesting fact about this wigwag have you ever wondered why sometimes it’s working and sometimes it’s not? The Railroad modified it with a timer to only activate at certain times of day which prevents its electromagnetic mechanism components from wearing out to allow time for the Wig Wag to rest in between its timed activations

In good news, the wigwag still works. It’s still working as of this year it hasn’t broke yet it’s currently the only out of two wigwags working on the Six Flags and Texas railroad. The other wigwag at Shockwave Crossing, hasn’t swing back-and-forth in a long time according to train crews the wigwag featured in this video is the more easier one to maintain.

@@syko-blud me too on the bright side. I’m glad a a lot of them have preserved either by tourist railroads and museums or private collectors there’s actually a magnetic flagman wigwag at the railroad museum in Galveston, which you can activate at the touch of a button

How come they don’t blow the whistles all the way
