Lyrics:
This is to mother you
To comfort you and get you through'
Through when your nights are lonely
Through when your dreams are only blue
This is to mother you
This is to be with you
To hold you and to kiss you, too
For when you need me I will do
What your own mother didn't do
Which is to mother you
All the pain that you have known
All the violence in your soul
All the wrong things you have done
I will take from you when I come
All mistakes made in distress
All your unhappiness
I will take away with my kiss, yes
I will give you tenderness
For child I am so glad I found you
Although my arms have always been around you
Sweet bird although you did not see me
I saw you
And
I'm here to mother you
To comfort you and get you through
Through when your nights are lonely
Through when your dreams are only blue
This is to mother you
End

R.I.P. angel. You were a prophet. And prophets get stoned. You did not deserve the vitriol you received from Americans of the MAGA type - the war mongering Americans, the Redneck Americans, the backward Americans, not just the ugly American, but the stupid American. I applaud your courage and steadfastness. I applaud the support you received from Kris Kristofferson. I’m disgusted by the violent physical threats by so-called men like Joe Pesci and Frank Sinatra (real tough guys, smh) towards a slight, very young girl standing up against a world of violence. Sinéad O'Connor - nothing compares to you.

Americanism is a fanatical cult. The flag is treated as a sacramental. The national anthem is treated as a religious hymn. To get stupid americans to march along with all the atrocities we have continually committed throughout the world all you have to do is wave the flag, pound the chest, play the anthem, spew the propaganda lies, and stupid americans will march right into the war mongering and capitalist abuse. The religion of Americanism is one made up of fanaticism, fascism, blind obedience, jingoism, chauvinism, hatred of the other, hatred of people of color, and sheer redneck stupidity.

I loved my mother so much. She had some mental health issues, though, that were never treated, and rarely mentioned. I went to therapy in my twenties after a very abusive relationship. To my surprise, after addressing the damage from my ex, a lot of my conversations with my therapist ended up centered around my mom. I miss her, and she did her best.

I was sitting in a house that I was welcomed into that I wasn't actually welcome in. I was living near friends who entirely ignored me. I was facing another hospitalization and I was deciding how to end my life as I just didn't think I had it in me to go another day. This song is in my rotation and as I sat staring at the wall it came up and held me in its arms. It/She Mothered me. In this song I found the strength to chose to go to the hospital and fight to recover and heal again. When I say her music saved my life twice, I mean it literally and recently. Thank you beloved sister, rest you are free. Thank you for loving all of us who always loved you.

I agree, she deserves so much more happiness than she got. She gave so much of herself, but thanks to SNL and Lorne Michaels blacklisting her she was effectively silenced in the United States and the career she should have had, all the people she could have reached, all the good she could have done, everything was cut off. She was one of the first people to be "socially cancelled" by the media for having views than were unpopular, that the media and other powerful forces wanted to keep hid. She tried to draw attention to child abuse and neglect, abuse against women and minorities, the homeless and the senselessness of war. Today, she'd have been a hero, especially if she were black, trans or anyone claiming to be a victim. That person would be invited to the White House and have 10million followers, even though they were never a real victim at all, just a whiner. As opposed to today's cry babies, Sinead was a real victim of child abuse, lived through and suffered the ramifications of Ireland's Troubles, the senseless bombings and deprivation. What does the spoiled, weak minded non-binary brat of today know about the type of problems that Sinead dealt with? Sinead said "I never wanted to be a pop star, I set out to be a protest singer".

Sinéad O'Connor NECESSÁRIA sempre....🙏 Viva no paraíso e suas vibrações sonoras ecoando em nossos corações como um bálsamo! 🎶🎶♥️🌹
"This Is to Mother You" by Sinéad O'Connor expresses loving comfort by describing a motherly figure in difficult times. The verses acknowledge loneliness and sadness, while the singer offers herself as a source of comfort. The chorus addresses pain, violence and mistakes, but promises understanding and affection. The bridge emphasises an everlasting, supportive presence. The song embodies compassion and love while acknowledging life's challenges and offering comfort. "This Is to Mother You" reminds us of the importance of support and affection, especially in difficult times.

Sinead was a beautiful soul in a tragic world, we wish her voice heavens gift. ❤
Angels sent me this last night in my hour of need. I'm drowning and this was their life preserver 🙏 Hugging you all in my heart 🫂 Love to you ❤
This song fills me with absolute calmness and peace, I feel what Sinéad felt/feels, I know she had a horrid relationship (if one could call it that with her own mother) and my mother, if you could call her a mother, well, let's just say it was a blessing that she finally saw fit to be selfish enough to have the final tantrum and stop speaking to me. I am heartbroken, but liberated at the same time, but then again, I've always been heartbroken, grieving for the mother I've never had. Love you Sinéad!💞🌈🌞🍀
Sinead O'Conner you are a gift from God and don't ever forget it, I know what you suffer from because I have the same thing but I think of it as a gift, you see thing's in a different light like the rest of us who suffer from the abuse of the past, but your next life will be everything you want and more!!! : - ) p.s. this video made me feel the love I never got. Thank you for being your true colors thats what I love about you!
