I miss this show. Such a natural soap opera and had me on the edge of my seat every time.

Hearing the roar of an African Lion is an unforgettable thing. It is far more loud and deep throated than I ever imagined and could be heard from quite a distance. Hearing it on video is nothing as compared to the actual sound.

It’s a sound you would need massive speakers to reproduce the FEELING of that roar hitting you. You feel it more than you hear it.

This show was literally my childhood back when it was on Netflix. Lion, Leopard, and Cheetah were the only animals I wanted to learn about. At the same time I didn't know what a Tiger was.

Simon King and Jonathan Scott, are the 2 people in Big Cat Diary that have the most inthusiasm (sorry about spelling) and show a sense of humor, the girl however, shows as little humor and inthusiasm (spelling -.-) as possible. I enjoyed 2005, with Kekea's cubs and couldn't stop laughing when Cheza and Sara would begin to play, It was just plane hilariouse

Mapogo also killed a lot of lion 4 vs 1. The realest lion still Makulu. This lion in the video retreat because he’s smart, he knows he probably he would have lost the battle. If a lion have the possibility he retreat from a fatal encounter. For example there is a video of Mr t running From Scar and Tyson of the split rock coalition

@millzi88 ..Simba of the Topi Plains Males who seized control from Scar in 2000, reigned over the Marsh Pride from 2000 to 2003. Simba was the key character in Big Cat Week for 2003. Then, the other male was killed by a buffalo. During the course of the week, Simba battled two new invading males, but defended his pride succesfully. When the pride split, Simba stayed with the older females for a while but disappeared after the Notch & his bro took control. The bro was later killed by 3 lions

I like Simon King and Jonathan Scott, I think they do a great job.

I just found a newer series Big Cat Tales. They have 2 full seasons. Hosted and filmed by Jonathan and Angie Scott and Jackson. I luv it cuz I must’ve watched each Big Cat Diary episode over 10-20x each. I’ve kept my cravings at bay with a bunch of great documentaries. But there was nothing like BCD - until J. Scott started a newer series. I hope he continues to make more seasons. Ohh…I always luuuuuved Simon’s commentary. Jonathan was always concerned but Simon brought the passion each show. He needs to come back too!!

When is time for a take over, usually the invaders would make a announcement with roars. It is similar during circus times in the ring. Trainers said that male lions make clear they are about to attack in contrary to other cats who more often than not would make surprise or rear attacks.
