how is memory used to help them to kill lion cubs? we'd like to think it's revenge but not sure if buffaloes developed emotionally to have that. isn't it just a case that they kill lion cubs cos their instinct tells them to? an elephant remembering where a water source is in an arid land is partly due to memory. buffaloes killing cubs memory based?? can you explain further?

Dude I’m turning 30 in April and I remember for some reason it would only be on really late at night. And I would stay up till 3am as a kid just to watch Big Car Diaries, amazing to watch and got me to love animals and just learning anything about them. Hope all is well!

Just think a few years back those big buffalo that came and saved the old one were little guys who looked up to the old guy. Now they are in their prime and the old guy needs their help and theyre proud to show what they've become. Really cool sight.

Amazing to watch them display this type of protective behaviour. "we got your back"

Now that was incredible how they gathered around him nugging ,pushing helping him get back into the safety of the heard. We need to give more respect for animals intelligence and their capacity to express empathy for each other.

@zzzz There is a big weight difference. Of course, the strong one is the elephant. but the king is buffalo. does not like captivity. In wikipedia, the buffalo is in the first rank of the 5 largest in Africa

The old Bull didn't leave at first and wanted to fight, however, the spirit was willing but the flesh was weak. The other Buffalo finally came in and herded him to safety, amazing behavior.

those buffalos are more of a friend than some humans i know.

This is the first time I liked a video of lions failing to successfully hunt a buffalo, the true friendship that the herd showed towards the injured buffalo is something that I couldn't ignore or despise. I hope the best for the lionesses in their next hunt.

Jonathan has been there for me ever since middle school when I would miss school because I was sick or something

I have only ever seen this once before and it was even more incredible. There was a half dozen lions on it when one showed up and cheered it on to fight. It lifted all the lions as it got to it's feet, shook them off and ran away. I would have thought it impossible from the position it was in, for it to get up and leave...LOL
