You are so right! I had an elite stylist burn the mess out of me and my hair this past December. I found Summer's tutorial and have been to two different ladies trying to get it done. Neither one did it justice. Now I just have fried frizzy scarecrow layers. You would think living in a big city I could find someone with this talent... but they are one in a million apparently!

First off the haircut turned out beautiful as always. You definitely have an eye for it! Im 36 years old and work in a nursing home as the beautician and I don’t do much of these hair styles but I love to watch to keep up with my skills. Ashley, you do really important work in the nursing home! My mom just moved into one and it makes me so happy when the stylist makes her happy with a beautiful haircut. I also can trust a nursing home stylist to be careful and respectful to someone with dementia. Seriously, Thank You!!! 🙏

I've been cutting my own hair since 2019, those self haircut tutorials...which weren't bad, but didn't give me the most professional look. Though I was still happy as I could decide my own length & style! But Summer, you're just so amazing with your guidance! I'm not a professional so it took me quite some time to understand the technique but eventually I grasped it and I did my own haircut! Although not as professionally beautiful as your haircut, I was still able to get a 75% result by cutting my own hair with your help & tips! It turned out beautiful and more importantly after a few days, and months, my hair still has texture to it! They've grown out but still look pretty and have a natural flow to it, which never used to happen after any haircut, even if I went to salon/hair dresser! So, you are an amazing teacher and hair stylist!❤ Much love to you! Today I'm gonna cut my hair again into longer layers, so gonna try a different video of yours!

It's one of my favorites!

This is exactly how I cut and I am NOT bragging. It's so hard to find stylists who truly know how to cut layers. I do point cut which saves more time later but either way is acceptable. I know it's because I was trained in 1967 and all cuts were geared for style, volume, movement. The guide line at the bottom moving up is the secret. Thanks for a great video.

I LOVE this haircut! That is how I have been trying to get my haircut for the past 2 to 3 years. It seems like people are afraid to put layers in hair anymore. Hello madam, are you a hairdresser? I would like to ask you a question? if possible 🌹

Hi Summer, I’m an ex hairstylist but never told the hairdresser that was highly recommended that I used to cut hair because I don’t want her to get nervous. I paid top dollar for the long layered haircut I requested. First, she washed my hair then dried it, and finally cut it dry, it looked ok when I left, however when I washed and dried it, there were hairs that were sticking out that were never blended correctly. She left a hole over the ear areas and never blended the layers by over extending and dropping the bottom layers like you did. Anyway, I applaud you on a great haircut lesson, I wish other hairdressers would watch your channel to get better education on haircutting. Wish I can come to you for a haircut. Let me know if you’re anywhere near NJ!

Elliesnest1 Just yesterday I got my very long hair cut shoulder length & wanted it layered with the exception of having short layers above my ear lobes (hope that makes sense) got home & there's a completely blunt top layer & fronts that don't blend AT ALL with the rest of my hair. 😫 Returned today & asked for more layers to be added & the front framed a bit more. Came home with a slightly shorter (which I'm ok with) version of what I got yesterday. I just don't think she got it. 😢 Now I'm going to have to try to find someone to fix it with out getting short top layers. 😢

@@karynagostino2853 oh no😱Good luck. Good hair dressers are hard to find! You did the right thing by asking for a face frame, if your hair is curly, don’t cut it too short as it will shrink up!
