Hey, I just got mine installed: And I found an easier and faster way to hook up the side mirror blinker wires without running wires all the way to the back: Since the wiring that feeds the tail lights it's already ran from underneath the dash to the taillights, all you have to do is remove the bezel that covers all of those wires; Open the drivers door and look down then remove the foot bezel, and boom, you can see the bunch of wires. On my 2016 Altima the wires are Yellow (Left side turn signal), and Brown (for the Right side turn signal). The Ground you can grave it from the chassis if you like. (I,d used a power circuit tester to find the wires).

Thanks for the video! Looks like the upgrade went really smoothly.. good work! I have the same car, and used this as an instructional vid to replace my side mirror. I don't have any mechanical experience, and was a little anxious about removing the door panel, but the step-by-step instructions helped tremendously.

I think this is a great instructional video. I wish it could've been more hands on and slower paced for those of us who need a more elaborate step by step process. Dope install. I just wish your mirror blinker lights were matching the colors of your stock blinker lights. I'm sure you'll get that later. You got what you wanted to achieve though. Good work though JPulley!

For anyone who have a 2011 model, the wires I cut for the aftermarket turn signal mirror was grey and black. Grey is positive and black is ground. Very Similar to the video instead his wires was purple and black.

Excellent video! Helped me figure the best way to install my mirrors as well. Although you made for more work than necessary, since you can easily tap into the turn signal wiring w/o having to run wiring all the way to the rear tail lights. Easy job! Thanks!

+yardygalkeepitreal you might have to take the car to a custom audio video shop. The type of place that installs stereos and TVs. The Nissan Garage probably wont do a custom job like this. Even if they did they would only use OEM parts which would probably run over $300 a piece. I only paid $70 for my aftermarket mirrors.

power it from your directional control knob, attach it to the left mirror activation side diode so when it's in the driver side position to be moved it will also activate the heater. it's easy and close.

Where can I purchase the mirror?

Why couldn't you have tapped a wire from the turn signal circuit somewhere between the switch on the column and the fuse box? I would also like to know where you got your aftermarket mirrors. A year ago I found two good sites but now I can't find one single site that has aftermarket mirrors.

I know in your case the wires that needed to be tapped into were purple and black. But how did you know it was those? Did your aftermarket side mirrors come with a diagram for the wires?

@ 9:00 I took out my tail lights so I could know for sure which wires went to the blinkers. I tapped into the wires in the back and ran the wire back up to the rear view mirrors.

Same happened to my 2014 altima SV. I imagine the process is the same but I Had a fender bender and need to replace the mirror so I figured to upgrade both. Only question is what type of wiring did you use to splice the back to the front?

+Patrick Levy I used www.amazon.com/20ga-Red-Black-Hookup-Wire/dp/B001JT1CEE/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1446923831&sr=8-3&keywords=12v+wires+black+and+red. 16 gauge wire might be a better choice but not really a huge deal the LEDs do not pull a lot of current at all.

+jpulley Thanks man...just got my wiring in the mail today. It's gonna be a little tricky splicing into mine seeing as I've already upgraded all my lights to LED and installed resistors to kill the hyperflash. I'll just have to see how hot the resistors get when two lights are drawing from the same line but LED draws so little anyway. Trial and error.

jermaine haynes Sorry, I've never taken off the upper console so I wouldn't know where to start. If you don't find anything on youtube I would check www.nissanclub.com/forums The people in that forum has done a lot of modifications to Altimas they might be able to help.

Did it cause any rapid blink or warning light because of the LED lights in the side mirrors?

Free Free no, but someone who watched my video and tried to install his did have rapid blink. I think it depends on the brand of led lights. It's probably a good ideal to install the LED anti flicker capacitors that way you won't have to worry about it. My mirrors have been installed for a few years now and I've never had any issues.

What wires did you cut on the aftermarket turn signal mirror? I'm not sure which ones to cut.

on mine it was purple and black. black ground and purple is 12volt power.

Question does your heated mirrors work? And are you willing to put a fuse on and try it?

Since the car does not originally have heated mirrors in the "S" trim level there is no circuitry for it. I ran wires that just pigtails off my turn signal circuits to get the turn signal mirrors. You could not heat a mirror with that power, it's not even constant, it's on then off. If the turn signal is not engaged at the moment its just a dead wire. Also the mirrors I bought do not have heaters in them.

Wen Jiang I would have had to drill through the fire firewall it would have been a shorter run but a lot more work.

Got question if you might know. Would purple and black wire be the same for a Maxima? I got a 09 s model wanting to do the same job as you. Also have any idea on installing led heated turn signals that auto tilt down in reverse?

What size socket did you use to begin with? 10mm?

Yes, I had to wire them up to the blinker circuit as shown in the video. Otherwise there is no power for the blinker lights.

@@marvinmanning9251 oh, for mine it was just to the two wires that didn't have a corresponding wire in the harness. Since the car didn't already have turn signal mirrors there was nothing in the factory harness that would plug into the mirror harness. I just cut those two wires out of the mirror harness and then spliced in the wires from my turn signals.

Yes these can be manually folded, but they are not power folding or anything. Yes it is possible that's exactly what I did with my car. It not really a beginner's project in my opinion. If you don't know what you are doing you can really mess some stuff up in the car.

In some cases you might, it would be a good idea to go ahead and install one.

No they are different generations. Generations tend to last 4-5 years then the whole design changes. You will need to get a sidemirror from that generation.

In theory yes, you should be able to. It will depend on you having the correct mirrors and the skill to pull it off, but there is nothing special about what I did in this video. This should work on any other car. You just need the mirrors for your car and you should be good.

Hello, I order similar side view mirror from amazon as well, If it alright can you inform me which wired you used from the tail light to wired with your new view mirror. Also, how hard was it to spray the mirror to match your Nissan Altima.

trueGrizzlesFAN22 as far as the wires for the tail light. as shown in the video I tapped in to the 12vt positive and the ground wire directly after the lightbulb on both sides. there only 2 wires so its simple if you do it the way i did. some people tried tapping wires in the cable trays or somewhere in the trunk and messed their car up.

Have you thought about adding cover seat. I just add mines cover seat for about 390 dollars. The car look fully loaded now.

I did give it some thought. I plan on keeping this car for a long time. I'll probably buy a truck someday and I'll still keep this car. Sometimes I wish I would have bought one that was a higher trim package in the first place since I will probably own this car for 10 years. For that reason, I thought about getting the seats done like that.

No, you have to take the whole door panel off to replace the mirror. The plastic piece that covers the screws for the mirror is partially covered by the door panel and cannot be removed without the door panel coming off. If you were lucky enough to get it out without breaking it without removing the door panel you'll never get it back on with the door panel in place.

It seems like it was 14 gauge but you'd probably be ok with 16 gauge as well.

HIDDENRAINN it would have envoled removing the wheel wells to gain access and drilling through the firewall to run the wires. Tail lights are a longer run, but eaiser.

your passenger side mirror is the one that got damaged which is why I upgraded to these. I had the driver's side mirror but i just thew it away. i dont know why i didn't try to sell it.

Headlines Generator its really not that bad buy I wouldn't recommend this to someine whi has never even installed a car stereo or maybe an amplifier with speakers in yhe trunk. This isn't that difficult but you can damage some important functionality if your car if you are not being careful.

You need to use a tester like I did. You need to confirm which wire is which before you hook anything up. I had some people reach out to me after they guessed and fried some stuff. They had all kinds of issues with their car after that.

What size socket did you use to begin with? 10mm?
