I heard there some FY1 Non training jobs for IMG with GMC registration but don’t want to quickly take the role and responsibility of a FY2 non training job…so they do FY1 non training so they can learn from the scratch rather than joining the FP.How true is that ?

If I may ask, what's your opinion on clinical attachment to gain NHS experience as a booster during job application, which I think isn't a paid attachment? How common is it for IMGs to get employed after GMC registration without NHS experience? As always, thank you for the encouragement. 😄

Hello, Dr.Ibreez. Thank you for your guidance. But I'd like to ask a couple of questions about pathology and Plab. So, I am an international medical student and after my master's degree in medicine in Ukraine, I applied for internship there for the "pathological anatomy" (which is an equivalent to pathology, if I'm not wrong). My question is: Am I able to apply for Plabs and register in GMC? Is my internship valid for GMC form of internship? I'd like to continue as a clinician in the UK rather than a pathologist. Or should I apply for the UKFP? (I'd need to pass the clinical assessment then). I'd really appreciate if you answer. Thank you.

Hi there,Finished my internship back in Bangladesh on February this year,just attempted plab1 3 days ago.My family lives here & so do i now, i have residency permit here also.do i have to sit doing nothing until i am done with plab2?I need guidance regarding this as sitting home doing nothing is very depressing.

Thank you for the great video. I did my medical school overseas and unfortunately, my home country ( Myanmar ) does not provide 1-year internship for foreign graduates and IMG who wish to work in Myanmar require a one-year internship certificate to sit for the medical licensing exam. As I have no plan to work in the UK in the future, I am wondering if it's possible to do FY-1 only to meet the requirement.

You would have to drop out at FY1 and ensure your country would then accept it.

We didn't mention this, mostly because it is so subjective...but don't let this hold you back! Many IMGs started in the UKFP this August.

No, but by informing UKFP that you require a PLAB date, they may be able to help in the process.

What is certificate of good standing doctor?? I have completed my internship but I didn't have temporary or permanent registration while doing that! 😢

When you rank, you see what the rotations are and rank accordingly.

U cannot do ukfp if u hv completed am eligible form of internship in your country. U can however go for the fy2 standalone route

Does your internship meet the acceptable criteria? If it does, you can't apply for the UFKP.

My Internship is of 10 months which is unacceptable according to GMC. Should I opt for FY1, I have my PLAB2 in January. Can I apply in UKFPO for January 2023 intake? In order to get my Foundation Year started once I get my my provisional GMC Registration.

Really depends… check the gmc if your internship is accepted for full registration.

You get the license before as part of the registration process

You could, but GMC may not accept it if you did not hold the appropriate registration to undertake it.

Salam Mam, How do I know which country's internship is acceptable by GMC to joining FY2? I am from Pakistan but doing MD 6 Year degree from UZBEKISTAN that included Five year Study period and then you will go through one year internship then you will get your degree. @@shaharyarsabeeh7666 Sorry but you act as though no country in the world is currently suffering from some form of a recession or economic hit. Inflation is high everywhere, but alhamdulillah we are still able to take home a salary and love comfortably from it. Not only that, we have job security and peace of mind knowing that we have a solid pension on retirement.

@@RoadToUK it's not about recession or something. It's about the fact that the system doesn't even pay enough to even nearly keep up in pace with inflation. Like alright a 3 to 4 percent real wage decline is tolerable, but above 8% real decline in one shot! And an overall 30% real decline only within 2 decades! Counterparts in other developed countries at least are given to keep up near to inflation.
