Should you buy a ROLEX SUBMARINER?
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Let's talk about one of my most prized possessions, the classic Rolex Submariner No Date 114060.
After owning watches from Timex, Casio, Fossil, Hamilton, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Baume et Mercier, Seiko, Citizen, Cartier, Omega, Longines, IWC, Blancpain, Jaeger Le Coultre, and even other Rolexes, the Sub is ultimately where I landed. Here's some of my thoughts (by. no means exhaustive).

I’m picking up my 114060 today at WatchBox! This is the best luxury watch ever!
Oh and I love that you never say “like, comment and subscribe” in the video. Very classy. Subscribed.

Hear, hear! And no puerile “Hey, guys!”
How do you feel about the newest version?
Man, I think I’m your long lost Italian brother. We seem to dig all the same things! Love your channel, man.
Subscribed love channels where people talk about stuff they are generally interested in and not just trying to get views off hype.
Just discovered your channel from your MacBook review and all your videos are absolute amazing! The quality and production of your videos is something else!!! I have a Datejust 36 and going to keep it forever, keep up the great work!!

Thanks man! Super appreciate it. Datejust 36 is probably one of the most timeless watches a man can own, so definitely wear it in good health.
Love this review and your channel. This is a superb take on the 114060 and it’s history.
First time viewer of your videos and I really like the way you think. I have loved watches since college as well and have bought and sold many of them. I always buy watches with that same look as the Rolex and you are right, there is no substitute, just get what you like. It will take me a little longer to save for this watch, but I think a few years of waiting will make me even more great full when I finally do make the purchase. Thank you for a great video; looking forward to hearing more of your videos!

Really appreciate the kind words here. It’ll be worth it down the line even though it’s a gut punch of a price.
Going to be fun watching your channel grow.
Great video 👍 we can see you talk with your heart about that watch. ❤️
appreciate your video, Mark! How did you manage to snag one of these at MSRP?

I did too. Seek and though shall find. Lol I simply called around and asked AD’s to put me on their list. 3 months later I owned an Explorer and a year later I did the same for a Sub.
Great job on the video. Excellent production quality.

Thank you sir - means a lot!
I understand and like you I prefer the Submariner over the Submariner Date. The Submariner is a classic and iconic timepiece. At the same time it is such an elegant and clean watch or should I say: "Superlative Chronometer." And by the way, I like your posts.

Such a classic watch. If you find yourself looking at it and loving it everyday, then it is worth it. Don't speak of selling it already! Once you say it, it will happen. Haha. --Michael

Nice video man! From which year is it? Have you service it yet? If yes, how was the experience?
@MarkKwak

I got this in 2014, and yes I did service it last year. Overall super expensive, and took a little longer than I would have preferred, but the experience was fine, no hiccups.
Great vid, Mark. I have the same watch and I couldn't agree more!!
Vintage watches are old too small 36m its dated like Black and white television, 40mm is the way to go for the average man, its the sweet spot as you said in this day and age. The Rolex Submariner stainless Steel Black dial white indexes 124060 is absolutely beautiful , for those who have had the pleasure to see this watch in real life or own one.

Watch looks killer on you bro! Do know what size your wrist is? I am on “the list” for one of these.
@MarkKwak

Thanks man, yes my wrist is a little under 6.75 inches. The key is to wear the watch at or a bit above the wrist bone.
I own a Rolex GMT Master ll 116710LN. Rolex makes beautiful pieces. Harkens back to an age when things were not disposable....
My only time piece !
Nice watch, dude. Once the SIP is lifted, I'm curious to see if the unattainability is still the same. It was my grail watch for several years, but I finally gave up the quest last year.
Great review Mark. Totally relate 👍🏽🎈😊
Great watch. You are 100% right. I have a few good watches but not a Rolex . Maybe one day . ( I do have a Steinhart Ocean one 39 and love it ).

Front one KZread content creator to another and from a proud owner of the Rolex GMT Master ll, Root Beer and GMT Master ll, Black/Black. Congrats on your long term purchase and on the great content. Thanks for sharing and please do keep enjoying this classic timepiece. Keep up the great content/hard work. Cheers............
How hard was it to get? Did you have to get on a waiting list?

At the time, it wasn’t all that hard to find under retail price second hand. Now.... honestly it seems like it’s all about having a great relationship with your AD or buying gray market- which isn’t all too unsafe these days

I sold my Sea Dweller 43 for a Glashütte SeaQ Panorama Datum 😉 you should rethink about it ...
Well said! 👏
I agree with your philosophy on choosing a modern Submariner that has the DNA of the older versions but contains the latest parts. I have the same model as you and I love it. It is my everyday watch. However, once in a while I like to play with my Apple Watch because it is cool. 😂
What is your wrist size?
@MarkKwak

Beautiful watch, but the current prices are just too high to justify purchasing one. At the price they are now trading for, there are way better watches available out there.

Get a good fake. I have a good fake and it keeps accurate time.
Keep it and make it yours! When I am wearing other watches, I am always thinking about my submariner. It will be a family heirloom only if you don’t sell it. Use it, enjoy it, and give it stories to tell!

More like 10K.
Hell yeah buy it !
4000!!!!!! you paid thats insane cheap
You’d get at least 10kCDN now, my 124060 was even more 🤦♂️
Should you buy a Rolex Submariner? Me: Yes because it's a beautiful historical, all-rounder watch and No because too expensive, too overhyped and the Waitlist 😁

You’re full of it. This watch was never $4k. It was over 7k when it was released in 2012 and the retail and resale prices has only increased since then.

These were readily available from 2012 - 2017 in AD windows. It's only recently Rolex have started playing games.
You bought your watch in the recession and thats why you got it so cheap.

Probably very true
With all the very high quality fakes out there (it's the most faked watch in the world, and by a huge margin), without authorised box and papers it's just an overpriced metal trinket with meagre resale value.. . Caveat emptor!
I think you like it because you've been conditioned to like it, like the masses. Objectively, it is not that special. Pure marketing.
