I have 2 Rolexes. Each corresponding with the birth of my children. I've always wanted this Submariner though. Something about it not having a date window makes it look like a work of art. I purchased the black ceramic/titanium Omega Seamaster for the same reason. And yeah yeah, I actually did want and do love my Seamaster! 😅 My 45th Birthday is coming up. Maybe it's a good enough reason to finally get this Sub.

Never cared for this watch at all. Saying that all Omega owners really want a Submariner is quite snobbish and obviously not true. It’s like saying all Rolex owners wish they were in the Patek club. Nonsense.

agreed. glad to say i have mine.. Milgauss GV for 14 years this month 👌🏼 and if that’s the case Phil, go grab it and put it on 🤓

I chased the. Hulk for a long long time, and I flipped it less than a year after I finally got it. For a very short time I was contented and then it became a watch I avoided because the green is just too much. Then I got a black sub again and I never thought about it, just wear it regularly.

It’s fun to play around with it. Definitely make sure you have the correct tool, tolerances are tight so it’s easy to scratch. But it’s definitely the best on the bracelet

Been using my '96 sub as and edc watch since 1998. It has gone literally everywhere with me, including to work in a Minnesota prison for over 20 yrs. I wear it on a nato, on the inside of my wrist, Just so inmates don't see it. Kinda risky, but only a few coworkers even know about it. Most ppl pay no attention to what kind of watch someone is wearing. My sub is kinda beat up and scratched (aluminum bezel back then) but still an awesome watch. Still looks great and has a ton of personality. Never been serviced and still keeps time like a champ.

The Submariner is a design icon 💫 Probably the most versatile watch ever created. I don't think there is any other piece of luxury Horology as versatile as the Subameriner Black no date. You can wear it daily in an office environment, during weekends surfing or at an evening party in St Tropez 😅 Thank you Negroni for your content. Currently I am building my relationship with my local AD buying two Cartiers I hope to own a Rolex Submariner no date one day. (The lime rubber strap is mega cool). I feel you 100%. The lugs on the last Generation were off proportion for me (like the hands on the Explorer2...) and it would be the first thing that I'd think looking at the watch. Same with the SD4K bracelet, could not ever get over it I think...

Enjoyed the vid! Curious why you didn't consider the new 41 mm sub. I have one and sometimes think the bracelet is too wide. Like you, I tend to focus on a negative about a watch and then obsess over it. Thinking of picking up a 40mm. Am I crazy?

Things to consider: did you get your sub for retail? Are you emotionally connected to it? If so forget about it, because while you hate the clasp on the 41mm (which is exactly what I hate about the new 41mm) you’ll find a way to hate the shoulders on the 40mm 😆 it’s a sickness my friend. And you have it bad just like me. You can always find something to nit pick about any watch. I love the tapered case on the 41, but the wider bracelet would bug me. Just remember, you have a submariner, wear it, enjoy it, don’t let the details ruin it for you.

I’ll choose Submariner! Classic and iconic. No doubt GMT is nice but I feel after few years you might get tired of coloured bezel.

A part of my dies inside, I cry briefly, and then I move on 😆 no but seriously there’s no getting around it. Best thing to do is embrace it. Wear the hell out of it. Watches are for wearing.

I was going to add, I was super lucky to get the Panda Daytona at retail 5.5 years ago but that AD can’t sell me a Datejust now so built a new relationship with an AD and managed to get a DJ41 blue dial (fluted bezel on jubilee) as they said if I get the non sports model will help me get sports later. Even though I have smaller wrist the 41mm still just about works fine. So just have the two pieces (Steel Daytona and DJ41 blue) currently, for my next (third piece and won’t be adding for ages) would you personally go for the Submariner or the Explorer 36 or the Submariner? I prefer the idea of the Submariner (even though there are things that I don’t necessarily love like the clasp but can learn to live with these) as it’s a classic as I see it as a more of a icon but the Explorer..there is something pure about it that also makes it attractive even if sometimes comes across ‘boring’ to some….”

@@rezar6894 I’ve never heard of someone who was able to get a daytona and afterwards cannot get a DJ that’s a new a one. But awesome that you were able to snag that up before the hype, I’m on the list 🙃. As far as the sub vs explorer, it seems like you are leaning sub so it would be easy to recommend going that way. But the explorer would be a nice size change up from what’s already in your collection. I very much love the explorer, and would love to add the new 36. Yes it’s boring but it’s supposed to be. The design is perfect, it’s beautiful because of its simplicity. And the size is very classic. Explorer won’t turn any heads but your own. Ultimately you can’t go wrong with either. And at the end of the day you’re gonna have both. So which one do you want first? which one fits your lifestyle now?

@@ChristopherNegroni - thanks man, I know it’s crazy that I was able to get the Daytona with no prior purchase in 2017 but nothing since. They offered me the two tone Explorer but wasn’t a fan. Anyway, such is life! Makes sense about the Sub and the Explorer…perhaps best just to take which one they offer me first. Having two very young kids, a big mortgage etc…I’m trying not to go over board with my spending as doesn’t feel right hence trying to justify just getting one and the maybe another some years later. I want to try and have a compact collection of 3-5 watches that all get decent wear time….anymore I just feel is not justified as some will end up just sitting there and I could have spent those funds elsewhere, hence trying to be focused. But you are right…both are great. Probably if I had the choice, I would choose a submarine first just find it versatile and an icon. Many people in my industry (finance/banking) have one but still love it. Ultimately would be great to have a GMT too then I would have a classic everyday in the DJ41, chrono in the Daytona, diver in the Sub, dual time in GMT and I guess Explorer for any situation when looking to fly under the radar. Appreciate your help and keep up the good work with the channel 🍺

Funny you should mention this. I bought a Seiko SKX 007 first. I actually still have it and love wearing it. I finally got a 2021 Submariner and wear it almost every day. Sometimes I get the itch to "trade up". Your video helps to explain how that would feel down the road. Love your videos and photography skills. Hint: you need to get into clear ice. Your drink would look and taste so much better. Then a custom Negroni ice stamp. That is all. for now......

I love watches...a tudor bb58 is being a great way of me getting into this hobby of horology without braking the bank and NO buyers remorse at all. Just don’t take it for granted like I do sometimes and forget that it’s all you really need. Side note the Tudor isn’t a cheap watch, I think it’s easy in this hobby to get caught up in videos of watches that cost exorbitant amounts of money, we lose perspective. The BB58 can serve a man proudly for many lifetimes. I hope you’re proud of the fact that you own that watch right now.

Just started watching your videos. You sound exactly like me. Had the explorer 214270, 14270, 124270 and the 114060 from retail, traded them, had a datejust 41 and new airking, they are gone. Now, ive got the 41 sub date, pepsi on jubilee, and explorer 2 16570. Im happy with what I have, but cant let myself trade them anymore lol. Kind of wanna trade the sub date for a sub though... Should have stopped at the start!

I wear my sub to the gym often, but not the ceramic, only the 16610. Ceramic is too shiny. Gotta get your body fat into single digits to pull it off though. And a sub should always be worn with its original steel bracelet imho. Enjoy!

I have a sd4k it’s one of a couple watches I will never sell. No cyclops, ceramic bezel, thicker than a sub, basically as perfect as a Rolex can get in my opinion. To me everyone that’s into Rolex has a sub I like the sd4k because it’s different even though I do have a sub.

i sold my sd4k for a profit but I do miss it. it was the only 40mm ceramic tapered lug dive watch. big hour markers super lume. it was awesome. just a but to top heavy bit I miss it. I know in years to come, it will be worth a ton because it's such a small number created

The only dent I ever put into my Submariner bracelet was working with something metal.I would NEVER take it to the gym!

Actually I dont think that a seamaster buyer wants a submariner. The seamaster is about the only diver which isn't some sort of copy of the submariner. I love my rolexes but I never considered a Submariner as to me that is the Rolex basically everybody who doesn't give a F*ck about watches buys to brag with. I do love the Submariner but because of this I woud buy other Rolexes before that one. I did buy a Seamaster because that is a great diver and it doesn't look like the most copied watch in history....the submariner. But I do agree with most of what you said here!

Which do you prefer/wear more often - your Sub or your Pepsi?

I prefer the slimness of the GMT and the jubilee is more comfortable. But I wear the sub more because it feels more substantial, isn’t as polished, and doesn’t scratch so easily.

my dad got the 116610ln in 07-2019 and the pepsi 12-2022 i got the 126610LV 12-2022! try to get a hulk (order 07-2019) got the call for the 41. sometime i ask myself should i trade for a hulk? like the new proportiones more. new movement is a point, braclet tapers much nicer too… only miss a green dial

@@ninidini6686 I personally prefer the 11 series. But that’s the thing I’m bias. The 114060 was the first sub I bought. I think it’s important you hold on to your first. You’ll regret like I did.

Iv had 4 submariners and 2 seadwellers. My brosnan seamaster is still my favourite.

That’s a great watch. I’ve been looking at some vintage ones. Priced right, a lot of them have very unique patina, faded bezels. It’s awesome

I got the SUB ND41, SKX007J, and the Ti Omega Seamaster 2004.. luv them . Wear Omega when I go places that I don't want to get jacked for my Roli and dive with my 007.. sorry bro.. the fluorescent green silicone strap looks horrible.. cringy and very metro sexual.. if I saw it, I would check if you were wearing polkadot pink socks.. just my opinion, keep rocking it man.. luv ur channel

You’re right I should have thrown shade on Blancpain, because every fifty fathoms that you can buy is too big, and clunky. And when they do make a nice 40mm version we want they make it limited ie the no rad.
