Just made a set today. Difference between yours and mine is paracord color and I'm adding water proof coating to it. Thank you so much for making this video.

Nice ! If the wood does not hold up try electric fence posts. 3/8 in. solid fiberglass. Cheap. Never thought of the knot before so thanks.

yeah know what else is good, are old tent poles-- the ones with a bungy cord inside, that way you can cut them to lenth

I just made these. Very impressive. I made a sitting and standing pair. 6 feet and 4 feet. Rock solid. Works awesome. I used plastic plant stakes. Vigiro brand from Lowes. However, now since this works so awesome. I need to do a carved hardwood pair. LOL!!!!

We used the prusik knot a lot doing river rescue/ raft retreival. Great knot!

Just made a tripod using your video and some fiberglass electric fence rods. Instead of making a square knot after the 2nd pole, I passed the line around the 3rd pole. Then I did the wraps and square not around the 3rd pole. Works great! Thanks!

Nice idea, I made mine with fiberglass rods that are very chip but almost indestructible for what the intended job is, I used similar rope like yours, thanks for sharing

Good Job brother !!! I like them, Your's are a lot prettier than mine. . I need to make a pair for my hunting blind when turkey hunting. They would be perfect for using while sitting in a chair. What size of dow rod did you use? Thanks for the kind words and the shout out !!!

Thanks, that bamboo mahogany stain does look pretty good in person. The dowels are 1/2" x 48" and they're American birch.

Awesome video! We use prusik knots for soft rope grabs in high angle rescue. they allow to slide the knot down the rope and then grabs when you tighten it. Works better than most hardware when doing rescues cause you have the ability to slide it up and down the Rope as needed instead of having to secure the Rope remove Hardware and add another piece of hardware if you have to change directions or regrab the load on the end of the Rope.
