Been wanting to make some of these. Looking around KZread and Of Course Mr Cavedweller has the BEST concept. Thanks man. My wife also says thanks cuz she is small and needs a good rest even for a short youth type rifle. I always enjoy your videos and I appreciate this one for its SIMPLE UTILITY.

Built a set for under eight dollars. Love them. Did redo the rope part out of larger circumference material which had fewer wraps around the dowels, resulting in larger knots and it never comes untied. Thanks for a great idea. Like them much better than a high dollar stick I borrowed from a friend.

Sir! These are excellent!! A perfect support for steady shooting & easy to carry from the looks of them. The heavy milsurps I like to shoot are difficult for this old man to hold out in front of me. A perfect solution for a problem I did not realize had an answer for. (outside of using expedient field solutions. ) Thank You!

I made a set but used a double prusik knot instead of the wrap, but it works the same way. I also wrapped the top 6" with paracord, and a 3" section a few inches up from the bottom to quiet them when being carried. Not only are they a solid rest for my rifle, but they also make a very serviceable walking stick.
