Hello Dennis . . . My hats goes off to the people who designed this fishing reel with so many parts - you did a very good job taking the fishing reel apart then putting it all back together with out any extra parts left on the table { lol } good video .

Love the Stradics. They are some of the best engineered reels on the market today. I have several. They no longer make the series in that size. I had one of those but sold it. I’m still kicking myself for letting it go. Nice service video. Thank you.

Thanks for the note. This reel was innovative and ahead of its time. The only problem now is with replacement parts, particularly the A/R clutch, which is not longer available. Best wishes - Dennis

There's something very satisfying about watching an expert disassemble and clean a complex piece of precision equipment like this. I just acquired a couple of 6000 FJs that are in very good, almost new, condition. How do these reels compare with the newer Stradic models?

The stradic reels have not changed much in quality or design through the various iterations. The newer ones are smoother than the originals, but all are well made and will last a long time when properly maintained

I have a 4000FG that's over 20 yrs old. Barely ever use it anymore. I did use it alot years back and broke it down many times. Probably the most complicated spinning reel I ever worked on.

Yes, this reel is not an easy one to service. Great design, but it forgot to include the service folks in a conversation prior to manufacture!

Platinum Parts is in my old stomping grounds. It's good to have another parts resource. I only miss Tampa in the winter when it's snowing, I do miss the fishing in that area, both salt and freshwater
