Family members and friends would find this video Guantanamo bay like torture, but I dont! It takes a confident man to take one of these things apart put it back together until four am and then do it again in a few hrs time.Mine isn’t broken yet but I had to watch you rip it apart in the case that I need to. I just stumbled upon you and dont know if you have anymore videos but Ill check.Keep doing the stuff that you do!

Very helpfull. Thanks. I got the second washer part, retaining the first spring, broken on mine, so I'm probably screwed unless I can get replacement, but this video was pefect to figure out what was wrong and helping reassemble.

I have the shift lever off only for polishing. Can you clarify, which side does the spring end goes with respect to the wide tab on the shift mechanism? I am struggling to assemble and have return tension on the lever

At 22:02 I say "It either goes in here or in here." Both times gesture to a spot on the plastic. Once I was done recording, I found out that it was the first "in here". That will be the small hole that doesn't go all the way through the plastic. Hope this helps!

@@Man_De just to clarify at 24.01, your removing and reinstalling the spring in the lever arm (y axis pin in the arm). Does the spring end that stick out sit on the clockwise or counter clock wise side of the wide brass color tab your pointing to?

I believe that the spring you are installing at minute 24:00 and following is pre tensioned. Unfortunately I was not able to figure out how the hell this is supposed to be done. My hands and fingers truly hurt by now. Maybe someone knows how? Or knows where that thing is supposed to be hooked onto? thank you so much in advance

I had the same experience with basically no luck. I've been running it without the spring tensioned. It works well enough for my needs, but it doesn't snap back to the resting position properly, so I need to do it manually. I've ridden over 200 miles with it like this, and I'm used to it by now. BUT! if anybody finds the solution, that be great!

Ok so I made some progress! Using fishing line I was able to put tension on the spring before mounting- I made it to the first “hook” but ran out of luck for the actual position. The shifter jumps back into its original position but only sometimes

@@lksbrnthank you for the tip with the fishing line!! after 2 hours of trying I finally managed to get the spring to hook on to the smaller counterpart! it works flawlessly now! for anyone trying it as well: I also plastically deformed the metal spring a bit so that the "hook" is facing a little bit more outwards. I think that also helped
