Sheep Farm Vlog #83 - Preparing to deliver Shetland Sheep to their new home, and a Farm Visit

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Another day in the life of a sheep farm! In this video - I get ready to take 3 ewes to a new farm and then deliver them, and get a nice tour of Trinity Farm and meet her flock of Icelandics, Shetland and Leadersheep.

I can't even describe how much I loved this Vlog. No doubt I mentioned that I was an Icelandic shepherdess not so long ago. I know Margaret also. As a matter of fact I had an ewe from her line. I also had the pleasure of being S❤hepherdess to a leader sheep before they were declared a separate "type" of Icelandic. They are everything Margaret said they are. Elke was my "snitch". If there was even one little thing wrong she'd yell her head off. I swear she could get inside our heads too. Best teacher ever. For us and our herding dogs. ( Also Icelandics ). I miss the sheep horribly, but our area just didn't seem to like my sheep. Poor dogs herd chickens now. The Shetland/ Icelandic cross IS truly so adorable. Most of my ewes went to live on a Shetland farm nearby. I hope to see their Shepherd tomorrow at NE Sheep and wool. This is going to be very interesting!

Thank you for such an interesting video. I enjoyed every minute of it. It was nice to see some of the journey to the other farm. Margaret’s sheep are adorable! How lovely to pass on the genes of your girls. 😊

Great video, Jen! Thanks for taking us along on the farm visit - as I eye different options for fencing :-) Loved how all the sheep came running to the sound of the grain bucket!

Thanks for taking us along with you to visit that farm. I would be concerned about the sheep wearing the lead harnesses all the time. I can see wearing halters but I would be concerned about the lead hanging free?

Thanks Pat - I asked Margaret that but she said she doesn't have any issues with them.
