    I so agree. I wanted to cry. And Jonah looked like he wanted to cry. But he was abrasive with all the children that day. Sometimes I think he forgets just how blessed he is.

    Greetings from Northeast Ohio. Justin, you need to lighten up. Jonah was so proud of the basket he built. You had Ben teach him how to solder. He did an amazing job to build something to make your life easier. He expected praise and should’ve gotten it.

    Having an adolescent child who Welds a cool box with Your stuff, w/o asking is Awesome. Because he's an independent thinker, self-motivated, and creative. Pssst. He will never stop taking your stuff. We're downsizing (paraplegic husband) and my 26 year old son took my big tv and my refrigerator. He told me I need smaller of both. Lol. I love it and I love my kids!

    I wonder if you held a morning family meeting to cover the days plans, hand out assignments, ask the kids to repeat back what their jobs are and how they will do the job. This will make things more clear, provide an opportunity for questions, and make clear your expectations. A bit more of a routine will help the kids to stay on track. When other issues pop up, everyone pitches in and then returns to their jobs.

    Good thinking, A wipe clean board could be good so they can wipe thing off when done so everyone knows what's left and helps with that achievement feeling, even when the jobs are daily/repetitive.

    We have a farm business and we do this weekly and daily for my husband and myself. When our 3 littles are bigger (they’re 4yo, 2.5yo and 1yo now!) we def be including them!

    I have been trying to get something like a morning family meeting together for years, unfortunately, it always devolves into arguing. It's getting better as they get older tho. You've got a great idea, it's one that's worth the effort!

    You can't grow Maggots in cool weather. Hottest time of year is best. Plus set under a tree or in bushes where rain won't drown them lol. Jonah did a fantastic job of building that crate and you deflated his happiness. You have the hardest working children. You need to be kind to them instead of degrading them because he made something that will make Your Life and everyone else easier. How would you of felt if something you did think it was a good thing and then be told all the wrong things you did. Kids have feelings also. Enjoy Clamping lol. Can't wait to see video.     lol i was farmsitting, and babysitting a 16 year old for the start of her school year... so you know, the cold months on the farm... and not only didn't i get paid, i bought the feed and never got reimbursed, love ya mom :P

    You set a example when scolding your kids and they learn by example how to do the same to there kids. My step dad was very rude to myself and my brother and I started to do the same to my kids I still catch my self time to time going down that road. (Good for nothing) rings in my head all day and I don't want to look at my kids that way he did that to surprise you and you did a good job letting him know to not try to use expensive stuff and to think! I know you won't read this cause I never seem to get a response but at least I tried.

    Farming = full time job ..... managing children = fulltime job lol.....Gideon! ....... just love the chaos and just amazing how Gideon always finds something else to do but work lol, such a kid just love it, and daddy being so patient with everyone while he's anxious to get chores done and go camping

    Gideon is old enough to learn from big brothers and sister to do chores. He has to be told over and over to help. I’ve watched your videos a Lind time.Lilly has been helping since she was small.     I'm a lactation consultant and I recommend utter cream all the time for new moms. It's way better than the stuff you buy for people!

    I'm not sure I would recommend that. The concentration of essential oils that is good for people is different from the amount for cows... I suggest consulting an aromatherapist

    I think you did good ! Let them know what you expect from them, buy hey ! He made a wire basket ! How many kids that age can weld like that ! Maybe have a clip board and he can note on it when he uses your supplies! This way you know what you have on hand ! Then it makes them more accountable!

    While growing up my Father had a business and he would have us spend the first 30 minutes after brushing our teeth, combing our hair and breakfast cleaning the garage and anything else that needed tidying up, yes we did get paid for it at the end of the week.

    make the road around property when you can, where you can, do some more piece meal clearing, do some paddocks out back and the animals will be easier plus less work after initial mountain of work - it is a process - good for you for getting away
