I don't understand why people on KZread that do their own hair at home never do it in quadrants, then wonder why the back breaks off while the front is still brown. Do a quadrant, leave it for half an hour, wash it off, do the next quadrant! Also a lot a lot a lot more bleach.

And if they don’t wanna wash their hair and dry it in between sections, all they have to do is use a very low volume bleach on the back/1st sections and then use a slightly stronger bleach on the front. Like a seven volume on the back and a 20 on the front.

In the past, if I needed to bleach my roots, or am changing colors which take a few days. What I do is keep on hand dark brown temporary hair color that washes out in one wash. That makes it so I can go out if I need to, without looking crazy.

Too weird I looked at the thumbnail and thought she has kaleidoscope hair. Oddly enough, 🎉she used Clairol kaleidoscope to bleach hair.

Oh my God. As a diy hair human I'm just watching this baffled. Why did she take this approach? Do a few weeks alternating bleach wash and bond builder to lift out the fashion color and maybe take the regrowth up a couple levels, then hit regrowth and roots with bleach once you lengths are where they need to be. And OH MY GOD, NEVER TONE OR ADD COLOR UNTIL ALL THE BLEACHING IS DONE.
So what is wrong with quitting while you're ahead?? Honestly, it doesn't exactly look healthy, her hair.

Things I learned about bleaching or removing colour from binge watching Hair Buddha videos: 1. Fine Sections 2. Fine Sections! 3. FINE SECTIONS!!!! and also: 1. No Coconut Oil! 2. Quick Blue - Quick Death lol 3. Purple shampoo doesn’t tone hair 4. Focus on the lengths, don’t bleach the roots until the lengths are the right colour 5. …Not the Baking Soda!!! Now you know why a fully qualified hairdresser is called a professional. They are taught about all aspects of colouring hair and bleaching hair, it’s all about learning ratio’s and it’s almost like learning chemistry. These girls make me cringe. It’s literally scary watching them mess up their hair. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥
@TheGooglyminotaur

You’re right! That’s what the license is for! The state doesn’t care if you can cut proper layers but you’re required to understand chemical use. I feel like a lot of people forget that.
@Julia-nl3gq

But, these days, with the internet, you can self-educate. The reason these girls are messing up so badly is because they're not self-educating. They don't have to be a professional hair-stylist in order to do a decent job, they just need to educate themselves, but they don't - they just go into it all willy nilly, without learning properly.

@@TheGooglyminotaur Here in the uk you do about three or four years at hair dressing college, you get a diploma, then you can go out into the big wide world. Or you can get an apprenticeship with a good salon, learn on the job, but still do college one day a week. So there are two routines England Uk. And it’s hard work. You learn a skill in all aspects of hairdressing. These girls are nuts. It makes me shudder to watch. 👍❤️👍

Good luck finding a qualified professional without plenty of luck and/or money. So many people have licenses for hair or nails who have no business touching a client on the shoulder let alone using potentially dangerous chemicals on them. On top of that a lot of bad hairdressers have bad attitudes to match their bad work. I only pay for good work from nice or at least personable people in the industry. They just aren’t the easiest to find and afford. So I do my own nails and when I don’t have a hairdresser (like now. I miss Lacey) I do my hair myself. But I have over twenty years of experience with getting it right, wrong, and everything in between. I learn from my mistakes and I always have a backup plan just in case something goes wrong.

Maybe, but some of us dislike our natural hair color or think it is boring and want something more interesting. For example my natural haircolor is neutral/cool dark blonde/ligh brown, like mushrooms or dirt roads or dishwater. Not appealing at all! If I was naturally a Targaryen blonde (I use to be as a child) or a spicy redhead (like my grandma) or had raven black locks (like my mom), then I'd keep my natural hair, lol 😂.

While having white-silver-purple-green hair on lengths I wouldn't be bleaching new growing hair. I would prefer to wait and cut so damaged lengths and never do that horrible look to myself again. I think that when we are going to change hair color we should think about not only how it would look on us but would it be easy to get rid of it later (changing color for darker/lighter, trying other colors frequently, will my hair handle those changes). And yep, I would prefer putting silver extensions in dark hair, using wigs, than killing my hair with bleach. Personally I don't like blonde on myself but nature is cruel and having white hair mixed with dark hair (so with roots you like like bold) doesn't look good so I had to become blonde. But now I only need to use Garnier olia 7G and no bleach to have grey/beige hair. Because my hair are going grey and lost most of pigment 🙏
@zelda4lifeschramm

Loving your comment and same..I force myself to learn to install wigs on myself so I can have exciting changes to my hair without killing it because quit frankly maintaining a platinum blonde is more expensive that a high quality human hair wig.Sad but true and if you do it yourself with a good bleach that has a bonder and other nice things you still need to be patient and have skill and I don't need an oopsie looks in my life at this age.Not when I want to keep my long hair that's down to my butt now.

When retouching with bleach or color, and you have mor than 1/2” of new growth, you do liner of demarcation in towards the roots BUT stay away from the roots. Then once full application is done process for 10 or 15 minutes, then apply to the roots and process both applications until degree of lightness is achieved. Instead, go to the salon.

Just found this channel, I love it. 😂x
Love these videos ❤
Why do people think they can do what we as professionals do. It hurts my heart when they harm their hair so much
A bit off topic but many years ago I asked my stylist how light she thought I could go with my naturally almost jet black hair. She said, “With your skin-tone I wouldn’t go any lighter than a dark, dark, coffee brown.” I was disappointed but took her advice. Months later I bought an inexpensive wig in the light honey blonde I still wanted. I put the wig on and gasped. IT. LOOKED. HORRIBLE. The wig itself was lovely but the colour looked terrible on me. My skin looked washed out, my eyes looked dull. I looked ill. I should add that I’d bleached/coloured my hair a darker blonde at home several years previous to that. It was a fail but thankfully not severely damaged. Turns out it wasn’t the colour range for me anyway.
This is why a couple of years back now, I switched to bleach baths for either removing color or getting my regrowth. I use BlondeMe and Ion's Oloplex dupe along with purple shampoo as my mixture. I do it in the shower so as soon as I think my hair is where I want it, I can rinse and stop the process. I find because of the shampoo, my results are nearly perfect, if not perfect. Because I've been using XMondo's Super Red for the last 6 months or so, I can just focus on the regrowth, and don't need it pale yellow. I've also been taking collogen supplements for about a month now. I plan on continuing to not just help my skin, but my hair too ( ◜‿◝ )♡
