    Dahling....DAHLING...she is putting Olaplex number 3 treatment step three into the mix, NOT ONE=1, the basis for olaplex, treatments which will not drop the peroxide lower than a 15 but not do shit all without the molecules of a "1"!!! You must use the ONE to retain the bonds and add others, not a 3, it is step 3 for a reason.

    People have got to stop taking advice from people at Sally’s: they are not hair stylists or colorists & will give you the advice they overhear. (I actually asked the girls in the two Sally’s near our home and no one was a stylist or colorist - they’re simply working retail)

    By the time you purchase all the items for 3 bleach baths, olaplex, toners, shampoo, you could have just gone to a stylist and had your hair bleached, cut and styled for a little more money. Plus, a stylist will definitely know what toners, foils and time to leave the bleach items in your hair. Of course, with Corona, we had to rely on doing most of this ourselves, which in that case, it makes sense.

    Just FYI, Wella T11 toner produces such a more beautiful blonde than the Wella T18 toner that everyone uses for DIY blonde toning. My daughter and I have been bleaching each other’s hair for about 5 yrs now and if you are okay with all over bleach, powder lightner (not quick blue), 20 volume delveloper, a tiny bit of Olaplex and some patience (leave the bleach on long enough) will give you a great result and for a fraction of what it would cost at a salon 😊.

    I love T14 for me, but you should use the Wella T14 toner on your hair if you have more orange/coppery tones in your hair after bleaching. If your hair looks more yellow or if you're trying to lighten honey/yellow blonde hair, you should go for T18 toner. Everyone's hair is different which is why there's so many different toners.

    I once went to a hairdresser to have my hair bleached and dyed back brown from a blue color and it costed around $500. Definitely could've done it for cheaper at home probably. I think it depends more on hair damage and the stylist you go to in terms of salon cost. Definitely worth it to go to a stylist the majority of the time though.

  • @laylakhoney

    @laylakhoney

    Removing blue is incredibly difficult, and taking hair back to brown can also be difficult depending on what's left in your hair. That definitely can be done at home but for most people it's unlikely that they would get a salon result by doing it themselves. Not to mention how much more damage you can get at home... Last year I removed bright green from my bleached hair and my stylist took me back down to a level 5 warm beige. Totally worth the time and money I spent because there was no way I was doing that myself lol.

    around 3:44 was a great explanation for something i was super confused in hair bleaching; which is why instead of leaving the root bare by like an inch or 2 unbleached, they bleach the whole head to only add shadow root later. which you answered as it can look choppy and you get a better out come when the demi-permeant shadow root color fades and the roots have a more natural fade. this explanation blew my mind, thank you Brad.

    When I mix up my bleach bath, I do the application in the shower. I get that stuff all over my hair, and work it in like shampoo before putting on the shower cap. Hands down, this has been given me the most even results. Splurge for the BlondeMe for even more protection of your hair, and I use the ion two step oloplex dupe (step one goes in the bleach, step two after rinsing.), And the Redken extreme bleach repair. Doing the bleach bath in the shower lets me do the rest of my grooming while I wait for the bleach to process. The shower cap helps make sure errant water doesn't rinse out the bleach too soon. Any spilled bleach bath just goes down the drain. All in all, a great system! (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤

Now I know how NOT to do it. I would get it done professionally, but the two times I had my hair done professionally, at well reviewed salons, I ended up very unhappy - my copper was salmon, and my honey highlights were badger streaks. i did a bleach bath on already prelightened dyed hair because i wanted to remove my dye and go blonde, and it worked! bleach bath wouldnt really work on virgin hair if you want to go blonde, youd might aswell just go in with regular lightener. I used t11 toner from wella, its a beige blonde and very beautiful, i didnt want a white platinum blonde.for the bleach bath i use 30 vol developer but i also mixed water in it, and with the shampoo it really dilutes it. my hair feels fine, i bought a keratine conditioner and it makes my hair feel SUPER smooth and healthy. A bleach bath does seem to be helpful if you want to dye it a a colour lighter than your natural (virgin) hair but its not a dramtic difference, just a base for the dye.

Like even though I managed to make my hair appear half-decent in the end, the places where I’d overlapped the bleach so many times eventually made my hair so fragile/damaged that over time it all broke off!! No matter how many masks or protectants or products I used, anytime I used any type of heat on it or even when I tried to get it professionally fixed, the over-processed hair just snapped off.
